What pistol did you shoot today

I’m pretty happy with the MP40. Solid construction, pretty accurate, and rate of fire isn’t overly fast. I did have a failure early on when a dowel pin in the trigger group broke, and the fix was to replace it with a proper hardened dowel pin from the local hardware store. No problems since.
I greatly enjoy the Blitz, but am going to find a lighter optic for it. The Oneleaf commander and it =10 Lbs.+ I'll give it a go on the P-force. It's more accurate anyway. The Pinty will be here this week to wring it out.

You’re way ahead of me with the pcp guns. Maybe someday I’ll give that a go. For now, all my select fire stuff is BB guns that I use to clear snakes off the property …. y’know, close range firepower and lots of it 🙂

One CO2 cartridge with the 2300S.
I sat in the house with the cartridge in my pocket for a couple of hours to warm it up…
Offhand, about 9.5 yards, offhand with CHP..
40+ shots

Well done! 👍
Those 2300’s are nice pistols.

I’ve only recently learned to keep the co2 cartridges warm. After leaving them in the basement in this cold weather I was surprised at the difference in power. Couldn’t understand why I had to keep fiddling with the sights. Now they stay inside where it’s warm and everything works as it should.

Always hated that about pesky old C02. I can remember building a C02 injection system for a certain illicit plantation in my unfinished 2nd bath a good many years ago. I accounted for everything....except for how freakin hot that little room could get. Ooops, no blood no ambulance but the burst disc on the big C02 tank let go. Shoulda put the tank outside the room. :) The crop was quite awesome anyway.o_O

Back to the Luger and it's accuracy issues.
The barrel shroud is secured by a set screw which is notorious for coming loose.
So I epoxied the shroud in place. Perfect ... rock solid now
Still can't hit the broad side of a barn.
Chrono'd it at ~270fps, same as my other BB guns that shoot straight. So it's plenty fast enough. The barrel is nice and straight, and not loose in the shroud.
Measured the barrel ID with a minus pin gauge set, and ... aha! ... 0.178". The Black Diamond BBs measure 0.172" Dia.
That's a lot of clearance.

I have some 4.45mm (0.175") and 4.50mm (0.177") metal balls on order.
We'll soon see if the tighter fit makes any difference.

I think Gamo has plain lead BB's. They work well in my old P17 nothing else feeds correctly. Not certain on the actual diameter.

The Gamo BBs are indeed lead. Unfortunately they jam like crazy in my Luger so I’m not able to do any tests with them.
I did get the 4.5mm steel BBs today and gave them a go. No appreciable improvement in accuracy, and only a 5fps increase in fps.

So far, the best groups I’ve seen have been with the plastic ASG BBs
