Update …New toy … Springfield Armory 1911.
I’m not usually a fan of BB guns but this is actually a lot of fun

I would be interested to see what you do. I have seen one fix for the KWC 'platform' that uses some self adhesive PTFE tape applied to the inside of the barrel/slide bush, but a new steel fake barrel sounds cool.Update …
1) It’s a lot of fun to shoot
2) It can be improved
I suspect the accuracy can be improved by tightening up the action. While the slide moves easily, it does so with excessive play. Ditto for the barrel flopping around.
Brass shims can fix the slide slop.
Barrel slop is two-fold … barrel to “fake barrel”, and then “fake barrel” to slide … both with excessive clearance. I figure the easiest way to fix this is to just spin out a new fake barrel (using steel) and toss the chrome thing that’s in there now.
Granted, it’s just a BB gun and will never be very accurate, but sloppy construction always irks me a bit.
That article describes some of what I want to do, except he’s using tape where I prefer to replace the outer barrel with one that fits with tighter clearances, even if brass bushings are needed.I would be interested to see what you do. This is the link, but I don't know if you would need to sign-up to the forum to access it.
First things first … took a black felt pen to that silly “Not a Toy …. “ text just under the slide, and replaced the plastic grips with some proper rosewood grips from Springfield Armory. Had to remove a little wood to clear a small bump in the airgun frame that doesn’t exist on a real 1911. Ok, I’m much happier nowNew toy … Springfield Armory 1911.
