Not today but yesterday. We had been over in the Jackson, Ms. area visiting the son over the weekend and stopped back at W.Monroe, La where we still maintain my parents home, along with my sister. I made a trip to the Ouachita parish sheriffs range to shoot a couple of powder burners and got to talking with one of the deputy sheriffs range officers and he had never seen a good springer. I asked him to watch my revolver, and went back to the truck anc came back with a case with a couple of FWB 65's, and a HW 35 e with an Anschutz diopter sight. I showed him how to cock one of the FWB's, handed him a tin of pellets and he went down to the end of the firing line and came back with a big grin on his face, I offered to let him shoot the HW, but he said he needed to get back to his duties, but thanked me and then later on my way out thanked me again. At least I made someone's day with an airgun. He had never seen a high quality air gun, only a few PCP types some folks had brought out.
We stayed over the night and went to a little mini high school reunion, 61 years now, and I saw a friend with whom I had been on a ROTC rifle team in college. He, like myself, is rather big into firearms, and in fact even as an optometrist had a little side business where he made gas checks for cast bullets, and swaging equipment for making your own jacketed bullets. He had see a lot but never one of the FWB pistols nor anything like the HW35e, and was amazed at the beauty and feel of those guns.
