What pistol did you shoot today

Shot this with the open sights, hoping to try it out with the scope at 20 yards next. Trigger is long with no certain let off point - something to sort out, but it is running at around 4.3 ftlbs and the aftermarket magazine is much better than the original.

That grip looks really comfortable. The circular part above the hand webbing looks like it was built to accept a stock.

KWC Makarov PM.
I still prefer the all-steel Baikal Makarov but this alloy KWC has blow back, and I like that chunk or realism.

KWC isn't without issues, though. Didn't shoot well at all when it first arrived ..... would shoot sometimes and other times pellets just dropped out of the barrel. Turns out there's a large slender plastic valve in the gas path that seems to control the blowback and this valve was suppose to have a very light spring.
And it did not.
Thus, the valve rattled back and forth at random resulting in the erratic behaviour. A quick trip to the hardware store to get an appropriate spring and the problem was solved.
Now it's a rock solid shooter.
Not sure if the pic will post, I keep getting "server error" messages when trying to upload.

Enjoying my new build pcp pistol. Tuned it down 10 fpe energy and now gets close to 30 reg shots. Plenty enough for punching paper at 20 yards.

It would be awesome if someone with your skills would sell quality parts for the 2240 and 13XX. With Don Cothran getting out of the industry there’s no one else selling quality custom parts for these models. A shame really. These pistols taught me the basics of how an airgun functioned and how to service it. Sure you can quickly tie up a few hundred into them but the experience and personalized piece are worth it.

Finally able to attach a pic. Seems AN was having some server issues before.

I recently read that someone now makes a shell-ejecting 1911.
I'm tempted to get one even though it's all plastic and still only a BB gun, just to tear it apart and see how it works.
Seems like this would be an ideal approach for a pellet gun repeater. Placing the pellet into a shell (like some Umarex revolvers) solves the problem of stacking the pellets and maintaining the correct orientation during loading.

Been renovating my recently acquired Anics Skif, managed to get it back together this evening and gas it up and try it out in the shed.
Nothing majorly wrong with it, just a bit of finessing to get the magazines moving reasonably smoothly, a new bulb seal and a good lubrication. Trigger pull is much better, but still a bit on the heavy side in DA, but pretty good in SA.
Seems to like RWS Super H-Point that are easy to load and spit out at around 320 fps.
Going to try it out properly at the range on my next visit.

Very nice, and quite a project!
It’s pretty close to what I’m after. I’m hoping that shell ejecting 1911 uses gas to load each round (like the Crosman 600) to decouple the trigger from the loading mechanism

It's not profitable to make parts out of manual machine. If I wasn't retired and had access to a 4 axis CNC machine, then it's a piece a cake. There's a guy on eBay making parts ( C88 Machining ) for PCP air guns, I think his in Sacramento area. Maybe he cans tool up if there's enough interest on it.

Hmm, 4-axis CNC. I do have a 3-axis Milltronics that I use to make stuff from time to time. Perhaps that, with an index head, might be sufficient?

Today I set up a 15 foot range. I can use this all the time any time to shoot pistols free hand open sight. It’s indoor at night warm and well lit.
I know I am not good at pistols so why not do it every night till I get better?

I have had the Slavia ZVP pistol forever and always tried to shoot it ten meters and I can’t hit anything. But now I’m going to shoot from 15 feet. I can see the pellets move. They are probably going 300 fps. But I can also see they are going exactly where I point the gun. I can’t point it at the target and pull the trigger but that is just a minor detail. This old girl can shoot.

I know it’s holding a 2 inch group at 15 feet. And this is my first time shooting one hand in my pocket like I’m a Turkish assassin.
But I know buy the time this tin of pellets are gone . I will put three in each target.

I’m a big fan of these old springers. They last forever

It will work if you don't mind re-fixturing the work piece, the W axis makes it a breeze, lol. I'm spoiled having worked on DX 224 DM 5 axis machining center.

Spoiled indeed … 5 axis, wow! I’m lucky to have 3. I’m use to re-fixturing stuff. Part of a job on the CNC and part of it on manual machines
