What pistol did you shoot today

Chronographed my PP700S-A today.
From factory settings I got ~32 shots from 200bar fill to point where reg falls off (100bar).
.177 7.4gr H&N Excite ECON II gave average fps, over 27 shots, 760fps.

I am having so much fun I should probably put my cloths back on. Haha

Today straight after work I grabbed my Beeman P1 magnum and a box of old pellets and sighted in the scope with a bench rest from 15 feet. Then from 15 feet I was able to do this off hand after a couple more sight in adjustments.

I am not much for scoped handguns. But this set up seems to work. My rotator cuff surgery was a complete success I must also say.

Today I goofed around with my 2300T. This gun is fun. I decided to build it with no Crosman parts except the air tube. So it has the etching numbers. Every other part is some aftermarket or custom made part. It has a two stage trigger . A modified Discovery valve. Lothar Walther barrel and a Williams sight. It has a lot of adjustments. Still needs a tiny bit of work but it shoots great. And at the setting I have it I get sixty shots so far from a single cylinder.
If I crank it up it will put a pellet through plywood.

I was at my local repair gunsmith shop and noticed a Benjamin Trail NX pistol sitting on the shelf. I was surprised because I have two Trail rifles and didn’t know it came as a pistol. Apparently the person who sent it in for repair backed out and I got a rebuilt pistol for $80. It definitely will give a workout shooting 20 rounds but I need the exercise.

Having a blast with my new pistol ranger. This home made gun is really settling down. I did some trigger work to make the space between the two stages wider. It is really a one stage trigger with a spring loaded gap. So I feel the trigger then touch the sheer.

Groups are staying in two inches from 15 feet.

Well done 👍. You might have convinced me to do some more work on my 2240. Is that valve adjuster (?) on the back something you added? I’ve been looking to add such a mod to mine

This gun is all made from aftermarket parts. The only thing Crosman is the air tube. The adjustment on the back is the hammer spring force pushing the hammer forward. The fancy teflon coated hammer has a screw adjustment that determines the depth the hammer
Pushes the valve. The valve is a super high flow valve custom built from a discovery. And the breach is a custom made left hand breach. The barrel is LW. The whole trigger is a mismatch of parts. If I was to do it over I would just put in a 1701 trigger. And j still might.
playing with these is a blast. At 15 feet I just got 80 shots. Turn it up and I get ten shots that spit ice .

Took the Anics Skif to the range today, despite my tinkering, only one of the magazines was reasonably smooth, one was slightly stiffer and the third was really still stiff.
I was quite surprised how much difference it made to the accuracy in D/A, also tried it in S/A which gave better groups, but the hammer is so stiff to cock it was giving me a sore thumb. 😭. The other problem was that the rear sight is so close to the hammer, I kept disturbing it when I was pulling the hammer back.
As for using it in D/A, the last part of the trigger pull is so hard, I was using the index finger of my other hand to overcome the resistance, it did give me some level of control though.
These pistols are really more of an interesting diversion and a quirky collectable than a regular shooter. Solid construction though. 👍

Today when I got home my wife was on a long distance phone call and I just slipped into the shop and fired 5 shots at each target. In one week I have gone from 2 inch groups to hitting the bullseyes once in just about every group. I guess that is almost 20%. But a major improvement. Seems my foot position and body form are the next thing to work on.
Shoot just 15 feet couple time a day is great practice.

Everything matters. Too often we focus on the gun, the pellet, etc. when we should be concentrating on stance, foot placement, grip, etc. I have pretty much learned to close my eyes, raise pistol to target and see where it lands. Then shift stance till raising the pistol has the sites right on the bullseye. There will be less stress on your muscles that way. Practice, practice, practice.

That was exactly the technique taught at a target shooting squad I used to attend. 👍
