What power scope? Athlon

My .177 DAR is being fixed and I just realized last night that I really need another scope for it, or I am going to have to move the 4.5-27 to the DAR and put the 3-9x33 Leupold on the Fortitude. I like everything about the Leupold except the simple duplex retical... and of course that it only goes up to 9x. However, in the short term, since I only use the Fortitude for very short range pesting now (15 yards or less), the Leupold might work out just fine!

I guess I'll have to watch The Patriot again to see what you are referring to... been several years since I watched it.

Ended up getting the Athlon Talos 4-16x40 mil dot with a set of Burris signature zee rings which should be delivered today.

Well I've been poking around for a scope that will focus down less than 50yds. Came across the Athlon Neos. Been wondering heavily on ordering one as it would be a Christmas gift so therefore I would have to wait to actually get to use it. So the question is, has anyone gotten the 4-12x and wish they had gotten the 6-18 or vise versa?

Looks like medium Burris signature zee rings won't let the magazine clear. Not sure the high will either with some rudimentary measurements, but I have them ordered anyway. May have to go with a different style ring.

I have an Ares Gen2 4.5-27x / 30 mm tube. At 20X the optics are great and it is light. Burris Signature Z rings on everything.

Well looks like the high rings will allow me to clear the mag so that's good. 6" right across my basement. I'll have to stretch it out some and dial it in closer. Probably take son deer hunting for meat since this is the last week of either sex. Having a scope focus down to 10-15yd is really nice.
