What scope magnification do you like to shoot and why?

I almost always shoot at 6X because I want to find the target quickly but still be able to place the shot well. I occasionally turn the scope a little if I have to fit the pellet into a small opening. All but one of my guns are sighted in for 30 yards. I have a sticky label in the scope cover to give me holdover for shots less than 20 yards or more than 40.

Of my 3 guns, 2 are used with holdover/under technique. Even though both those scopes go over 20x magnification I always leave them on 12x. I guess the reason is because that's where it feels best for me. My eyes are still functioning great & never need to change the magnification even to see things well at over 100 yards. My 3rd gun (gifted to me) was set up for scope clicking (extremely accurately) & calibrated at 10x magnification so I never change a thing.

For bench shooting? The highest power you have on that scope. Right now I have an Athlon ares 15-60 and it’s on 60x on my 13 yard cellar bench. Had a portable bench but had to make a heavy wood one that doesn’t transmit every breath. You can sight precisely every time. Wish I had it on my 22lr instead of a measly 20x for competition when I was participating.
For critter shooting? Drop them variables down low if still hunting , stand hunting etc crank it higher if time and a cooperative animal allows

The only scope type competition I shoot is hunter class so 16X is what I use.
Offhand, too.
The PRod has a FFP 4.5-14 Tactical scope and it is mostly used there.
For big game hunting the Husqvarna .30-06 wears a 4-14X Leopold and it is kept at the high power.
Air pistol handguns use a 2X scope (when used).
The .223 TC pistol uses a 2-6X Bushnell for prairie rats..

I'm not a big magnification fan!
For farm pesting I'm usually in the 10 to 12 power range and for hunting it's usually 6 to 8 power for a larger field of view.
I might have different views if I was a paper puncher but that's not my thing. Only to sight in or confirm zero!

What scope magnification do you like to shoot and why? Do you do your own thing or do you try to zoom so it is a true mildot at 10x so you can use chairgun etc.?
I like anywhere from 10X to 16x depending on the range. I guess my favorite is 16X. But on my HW30 I get by with 7X..lol.

80x for my normal shooting off the bumbag....offhand and kneeling 45x
What scope gives you 80x magnification? Don't think I've ever seen one go that high, maybe a SPOTTING scope, but WOW!

EDIT: Just saw some 80x March scopes. Had no idea. Learn something new every day here, almost.

March Majesta and High Master each 8-80x. I have one of each 😉
