What Smith To Reg My Crosman 1701P?

If that's what you truly need perhaps the sponsoring dealer listed at the bottom of the page would be good, I believe ( pretty sure) he installs them as well as sales & service.

I tested one out a couple of years ago but it was the "traveling crosman" ( crosman forum back when Randy owned it he got/purchased a 1701P and folks tested it and HAD to write a review then mail it to the next person and NO tinkering , so I only fired it box stock w/trigger adjustment). It shot right around 480fps w/10.5g for 5.5fpe and more than 50 shots per fill. It would be very easy to use the factory adjustments and maybe transfer port to bump it to 6fpe and with just that silly sounding 3-4 orings between the striker/hammer and valve face , hammer spring backed all the way out ( lighter spring? Not needed tho) then adjust the pip , striker whatever you like calling the travel adjustment, you "should " ( uh huh ) be able to get 50 shots at 6fpe +/- 20fps and likely much closer to 10fps max spread if your paying attention.

Or drop a reg in then start adjusting the factory settings pretty small air volume to work with there but if you really need a single digit spread and reduced shot count a reg will get you there.

I have had two new 1701P and both out of the box shot 7.4gr Crosman pointed @ 450-460fps for around 50 consistent shots. The last one I turned up to get a 7.9gr CPL to break 500fps but the # of shots dropped to 30/35, IIRC.
