What springer did you shoot today?

Today it was nice and cool so I shot a bunch of my 95 family guns and my R1. Some did better than others at times. All did well at times. The 22 Field Pro had the best chrono results. It had five identical velocity shots in a row and had an ES of 3 over ten shots. It's ES is consistently seven or under on ten shot strings. It's not a powerhouse but it shoots 15.5 FPE pretty nicely.

Today our weather was warm and calm. I got to shoot the older Winchester/Daisy at 25 yards. I got a couple of good groups with Crossman Premier 7.7 grain hollow points and H & N Baracuda Hunter Extreme 9.57 grain pellets. Interesting how the point of impact is different from one pellet to the other. Six inch paper plates with 2 inch orange dots.

I think I am getting a handle on shooting a springer!

Shot my 22 cal Walther LGU Challenger Ultra at 20 metres with the forearm resting on my palm and the butt lightly in my shoulder. No wind. I was shooting it the other day at 35 metres, hence it is a little above bull.
Three single shots and three groups of seven. The coin is an Australian one cent piece which finished circulation in 1992 for comparison. I’m a happy chappy👍

Had fun with the .22 Beeman P1, Tempest, and the C02 Schimel this morning. The Schimel GP22 is an interesting piece of airgun history. It was the first airgun to use a C02 cartridge. It's a .22 single shot and uses the short 8 gram cartridges. The toggle works much like the P08 Luger and it weighs nearly as much as the actual Luger as well. It's surprisingly loud and will push a 14 gr Meisterkugeln well past 500fps. This example was made in 1946, making it the oldest airgun in my collection. It came to me in pieces, and surprisingly there wasn't anything missing. I was going to re-finish it, but after an hour or so in the ultrasonic cleaning tank and a dunk in wd oil, the finish looked pretty good. I ended up just re-sealing everything and re-assembled it. Fun old shooter.

Cool factor for the Schimel is just off the charts.

TX200 .22 with H/N ftt 14.66gr, at 30-40 yds its pcp accurate. Cheap BSA FFP scope, very clear/nice reticle.
Nice, need a pic. Crow

ODD to shoot a spring in the grip, releases upward . Interesting pistol , pellets fit loose even 4.52 is loose . trigger is ,well , a long take up then a crisp very heavy let off . Shooting @ 15 meters i have one 10 ring and 20 other " also scored " (as in hit the paper )
