What springer did you shoot today?

Headed out to do some pest control at a friend's farm this afternoon. The 98 is .22 and the 50S is .177. It's 70 degrees and sunny with just a light breeze. Doesn't get much more perfect than that.

It's been a month since shooting anything. I'm waiting for this damn heat wave to break. Actually today looks to be a little cooler, only 100 at 3pm. We hit 108 a couple of days ago. Early mornings are use for yard work, what little I do before it heats up. Usually low 80's when the sun comes up

So where. Are from.
Northern Maine. Never gets really warm up here, even in summer. The tradeoff is long cold winters. I enjoy the isolation and the beautiful country.

Managed to bag half a dozen red squirrels, and my friend got two groundhogs with his .17 hmr Ruger bolt action. Fun day!

How far north? Kim is from Moncton, NB. Her mom spends the winters here but we may go up next summer. If we drive we’ll go through Maine.

I spend much of the summer in Aroostook Country up around Caribou, and the colder months at my house just north of Bangor. My mother was from Hartland NB. Used to spend summers there as a kid. If you're ever up this way, stop and say hello!

I’ll let you know. Plan is for either summer 2024 or 2025 depending how a few other things shake out.

The thing I like about living this far north, is because of the tough winters, you have to want to live here. Places like this attract independent self sufficient folks, and folks like that tend to be really good people. The marginal folks don't stick around for long. Makes for a great community of people who look out for each other while still respecting people's privacy. Love it here.

Anyway, with my pest control duties fulfilled, I'm putting away the heavy stuff, and shooting some "fun guns" today. The new adult sized Red Ryder, the tack driving 499B, and a Umarex Ruger MK IV. The new Red is a great shooter, and after some trigger work and the addition of some lead ballast, the little Ruger springer is a good shooter too. Not a bad pistol for $50.

Today I pulled out my Webley Omega in .177 and took a handful of shots with some Superdomes at my 30 yard can, every shot a hit standing offhand with open sights. I forgot how nice a shooter this gun is and it's really a beautiful gun as well. Many say this was one of Webleys finest guns and I have to agree, just a little to late to compete in sales with the other springers out at the time. I had thought I may sell this one off as i thin my collection a bit but now I think I will hang onto it!

I shot my HW 77 .77 with Weihrauch moderator. Super accurate! The Mod shifts the POI about 2 inches so after a zero it’s all there.
I posted a few weeks ago I wanted to try a TX and knew it could not be any better. Well……
I got a TX200HC and it shoots out of the box like my Vortek tuned Weihrauch guns, no buzz whatsoever!
I then contacted Anthony Storey and he built me a Moderator for the TXHC, it was a perfect fit, got the sound right where I wanted( as good as the Weihrauch) and NO POI shift ! Amazing and a much better looking product. I ask him about a Mod for my 1701p and he knew exactly what I needed. I can’t say enough about this guy!
Long story short ( too late ) the TX Will shoot with the HW and I hate to say this but maybe a bit better, but the scope may be holding better also.🤣🤣🤣
