Shot the .22 98 yesterday, and tested out something new I put together. A .177 replica of the Austrian Bullpup 5.56mm Steyr AUG.
View attachment 406165 The AUG is an electric spring-piston gun that started out as a .25 airsoft that I converted to .177BB. A fairly simple matter of machining a new barrel sleeve, modifying the magazine, and adjusting the mainspring and gear ratio. Shoots Daisy match grade BB's at around 450 fps out of the 14" barrel. It's select fire and the mag holds 250 rds. So far it's 100% reliable, and accuracy is quite acceptable for a smoothbore BB slinger. Getting close to 1000 rounds per battery charge. I've wanted an airgun replica of my real AUG for some time now but I'm not really into airsoft. That's basically where my .177 BB conversion idea came from.
