What springer did you shoot today?

I did another night shoot. Perfect this time of year. Snuck in 2 hours. Great choice tonite. B2D84CFA-19E0-46A6-97A6-D3E7A14A6FFF.jpeg HW30 .22, HW50 .177, HW35E .22 and a R9 .22. Their accuracy is amazing. Just makes you try harder. Crow

nice day, 88F, mostly calm wind (not bad for Autumn in Oregon). took the Daisy single-stroke 753 out to test more ammo.
trying to find THE ones for 25Y. those FTTs work in just about anything. 🎯 the RWS MKs are nice too, for shorter distances.
but still, not perfect. 💪 the gun can do better. but i have more time than ammo. :)

The JSB Express 7.87 grains might be worth trying. Also, the Norma FT Heavy 9.1 grains shoot well in my old Diana 45. At around 615 fps they group very well out to 25 yds.

I like JSB best, but eh, the prices are killing me. I've shot 20k pellets a year the past couple years. Could've bought a couple guns! :) eh, that way with all shooting consumables.

i'll keep those in mind. the lighter pellets haven't done as well so far. 8-ish gr seems good, 10g+ is too heavy, as the diopter doesn't go that low. the 10.6gr crosman copper pellets would hit the ground long before the 25y POI. the gun shoots everything sub-500FPS.

i'm enjoying the challenge in the meanwhile. :)

I have a few I should move. Have a had time letting them go. Crow
I stocked up on JSB and never have an issue. 88F nice, we’re getting frost warnings at nite. Crow
Just came in from nite shooting again with the HW30 .22. So easy to watch the shot because the lites lite up the skirt of pellet. Really cool to watch. Accurate is an understatement. Almost sorry for the pest. Days are numbered. Crow
It's a fair fight. Generally between 01:00 to 04:00 when you see these dang things so just assume me being bleary-eyed and without my first cup of coffee levels the playing field. And they have armor plate ha ha ha! Kim isn't going to shoot it anyway, she doesn't have the heart to do cute critters. Could be a possum. Trying to get her to stay up tonight. Turn on the fire pit table and see what comes across the pasture into the yard. I just need her to hold the spotlight ;) .

I've seen your stash. If you decide to part with anything I want right of first refusal. At least you'd know it was going to a good home!

Before I was shooting on my range I took a couple casts looking for that fat small mouth. I took this picture, it almost looks like an oil painting. Thought I would share it. F188CCA6-A8C9-4984-B9C7-150EEB9559A0.jpeg
Had six rifles on the range tonight, two the same from yesterday, HW30 and HW50 both in .22 cal. Gems.
The others were 813403CF-8635-49C3-98E3-598DA154C5EB.jpeg LGU Varmint .22. One of my favourites. HW80 .25 Destroyed the cans, HW77 .22 another Weihrauch laser. HW50 .177 just point and shoot. More I shoot these 50’s the more I like them. Crow

Finally got around to sighting in the UTG scope on my Walther Parrus .177. I've been dealing with some health issues and it felt good to get out and soak up some sunshine. Needed the vitamin D!!!!!!
Not familiar with this gun. Is the Walther Parrus a decent gun?
Get your health back. Crow
I’ll put my money on Kim.
You know how they say Crow’s like shiny things. This Crow likes Springers.

Today it was the Crossman Venom Dusk.

I've had it over 10 years, it was my first exposure to a gas ram. Unfortunately it just will not shoot straight.
I've tried every hold, pellet, scope, adjustments, maintenance....
About once every year I get it back out and try again but the best it will ever be is 2" groups at 20 yards:(
Is that a stripper pole? Lol

My bud Lance and I spent the whole day shooting! The list included:

FWB 300S Junior
HW 55S
Early "small tube" Diana 28
Daisy 753
.22 cal FWB 127 Tyrolean custom
Barnett Spitfire (Webley Tracker)
Webley Mk 3
Diana 50
Webley Tempest

The model 50, an old one, needs some work, but all the rest were a blast. The star may have been the Spitfire - very accurate little tap-loader.

FUN...!!!

An AV 46M and m HW 35e.
Sweet. I’m familiar with the 35e. Nice gun. Crow

Great day of shooting. Nothing better. I’m hoping to go to my buddies range up north this week. He’s done work on his shack I’ll get pics. Enjoy. Crow
My 22 cal Hw50S at 30 metres using H&N Greens. Mostly one or 3 shots except middle right which was 10 shots. This group and the distant hole were the first straight out of the safe. It’s a really fun shooter just wish I could match its capabilities 😊

Not too shabby at all. Love the 50’s. Superb gun. Crow
97k .22 took out a squirrel burying a black walnut in my backyard.
Wrong backyard to bury walnuts. Especially when the owner has a 97k. Crow
Took my HW30 for a walk this morning before church. Came home with a grey squirrel. Not much of a meal, we collected two more this evening. Talk about relaxing....

Posted a couple of pictures in the hunting sub forum if interested.

Best regards, Flintlock.

Nice shooting. They look like twins.
Haven’t seen a squirrel in over week. Enjoy Crow
I just put about 25 pellets through my 22 cal. Hw77 Stainless. Very easy to cock and a pleasure to shoot.

That’s a nice gun. I like the longer barrels for cocking, for sure. Crow
took the old Daisy out for some open-sights plinking & ammo tests...

Made another trip down to the lake cabin with my bud Lance on Tuesday. Awesomely perfect fall weather, and a great place to shoot! He took three different 124's, a 300S Junior, and and a late large-tube Diana 28, all scoped and really fine shooters.

I made it "Weihrauch Day," LOL: 1967 original model HW 50; 1973 HW 55 S with custom ARH Williams sight; 1997 HWB Champ (junior HW 55); and 1970 HW 55 M. I've put Maccari kits in the 50 and 55 M, never been into the other two but the previous owners obviously had. All four perform well.

Lance likes reactive targets - we spent the most time wearing out some 2-inch-tall plastic pill bottles, LOL. My star of the day was the 55 M. Shooting off a rest with iron sights and 1.5x magnifying iris, I was hitting those about 4 out of 5 times at a measured 32 yards. The accuracy and hitting power of even these mild-mannered oldsters at that range was surprising!
