What springer did you shoot today?

One thing to watch out for in the Benjis is the fiber pivot washers. Mine suddenly started shooting way left. Thought it was the scope. Nope. Called Crosman and they said replace the pivot washers, they often wear flat on one side. Fixed it right up.

Shot FWB 300S and FWB 124 yesterday. Long barrel HW97K today.
thx for heads up. i don't have 500 rds through it yet. so hopefully not worn-out washers. bought it 6 years ago every time i tried i got frustrated and picked up different gun. Well looking at pivot bolt right side has half the space as left maybe the pivot washers do need replacement or aren't there.

Got a chance to shoot this morning, my amazing HW77 .25. Love shooting this gun. Such a blast.

Love watching the trajectory when shooting this gem. So accurate. Have a hard time putting this one down.
Now this 98 .177 has as well been lethal.

I put a Vortek spring in this gun. 98’s are a perfect gun. Crow

Put 60 pellets down range with my new HW44. Felt like a target hitting hero! Did about the same with my awesome Air Arms ProSport and realized that I still suck :). I have nothing but respect for all of you that can shoot a springer with the accuracy that I've seen on this thread. Very humbling. But I'm new to this and I am getting better, Cheers!

Shot my pro sport today,177 at 900 fps with 7.9 cp hp. I didn't,think it was to bad for 76 year old eyes. what do you think. I know there are a lot better shots than me on this site. Steve!

Yes good shooting with open sights, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen open sights on a prosport.
Also did you make the screw cups?

woke up this morning and started in with the Benjamin 22 thought I had it dialed in then it fell back into madness 3 different scopes later I'm ready to give up on this gun. Ordered datuna trigger. shot the beeman r9. And bought a pcp first venture into the dark side.
Quite the morning you had..lol.

Maybe try some bronze pivot washers. Just a thought, may or may not work.

we all started just like that . and we all now shoot better and still try for more .

View attachment 285196I shot these two today. First time I had them out in over half a year. I was feeling the blues and after shooting them, I felt 😊

Can’t beat Airgun therapy to help out during tough times.

The PS is in .22 and the 97 in .177. Both tuned by me with JM parts. The 97 has a buzz upon firing but I think it’s due to the cocking lever release button. I don’t want to mess with her bc she is super accurate. Almost effortless to shoot one holers.

Take care

Gabe
Yes there’s spring in the cocking arm. I filled my with krytox grease and that killed the spring noise coming from that.

Been doing some indoor 10m shooting with the Diana 75 and Daisy 753S. The newly re-built 75 is running well. Both guns will do their part if I do mine. Outdoor shooting is on hold for now. We got two feet of snow night before last, and it's a balmy 8 degrees F this morning. Winter has arrived.

If any wind it helps. I like the fact that the table top is cloth instead of plastic. Crow
I came so close to getting a second .22. Someone else is happy. 👍Crow

Well today I started with Benjamin Np first 2 shots on target woot woot. Then it fell off again lucky to hit the broad side of a barn. throw that gun down. Moved over to Gamo wildcat it was shooting good then blamo it went to heck (I bagged 5 squirrel with this gun on Saturday). Take off gamo scope put on new hammer never could get that to get on target. Finally mad at both of .22's I picked up R9 just so I could remember what it's like to hit what you're aiming at. Ahhh sweet relief.

My Motorhead tuned D460 .22, FTTs 14.6gr. Hadn't fired it in several months. Weather was decent yesterday afternoon, so I took it out just to shoot a couple pine cones in the back yard about 35-40yrds away. I forgot how accurate this thing is, any small pest inside 50 yards is in deep trouble. (y)

Today I refocused on the wildcat a previously solid shooter. Figuring the crosman 4x32 scope finally bit the dust I went back to the new hammer 3-9X32 which was slated to be returned because the scope mount did not fit the benjamin. Upon putting it on on wildcat It was shooting high and right. It took all the adjustment to correct and still didn't get there. So I removed the hammer one piece mount and put back on the gamo two piece mount with hammer scope and was able to at least get it hitting on target without every click of adjustment. So the question becomes since the mount is worthless do I return the scope/mount or keep it. Is my dovetail off or is it just the mount not properly seating.

50 yards slight to moderate breeze, I can hit 2" target 5 out of 5 times sitting down with gun on monopod. 1" target 50%. hit. This is with premier hollow point because I've used up all the dome.

The Crosman 6500 Challenger -AKA- Anschutz 335
20231207_143759.jpg

Still leather sealed and smoooooth.

The rear sight is actually correct for the rifle, and is an Anschutz 6706 with a Gehmann adjustable diopter eyepiece.
20231207_143810.jpg

The Anschutz 335 has three holes in the top of the receiver that can be used for an arrestor pin to belay any sight movement along the dovetail.
Anschutz manufactured a drop in arrestor pin that was designed to drop into the holes and stop rearward shift with scope rings or Williams type sights with no arrestor pin feature.

The 6706 rear sight uses a coin slotted screw along the lines of a Weihrauch rear diopter sight.
