What springer did you shoot today?

Today and tonite 5 absolute gems. 292EFF34-8664-4FCA-AB96-44B2FF9A4AF7.jpeg HW97k .22, HW77k .25, HW35e .177, HW85 .177 and HW77 Lam .177.
The 77k .25 was the first star tonite. E5DFE92E-6FBE-4FA1-8084-18FCA986B2E3.jpeg Stacked 7 rounds 35 yds.
The 35e was outstanding as well. Every time I pull this gem out it gets more and more impressive.
The 85’s another Weihrauch laser.
The 97 is always reliable. This one was my first 97, always a pleasure to shoot. Crow

I really really like my 77K in .177, but I love my .177 35E. That gun is so smooth. I am still a rookie at airgunning, but that rifle makes me realize how good these guns really can shoot.

I LOVE my 97, I have owned an HW30, TX200, Webley Tomahawk ( 25caliber), and a BSA (British made/not Turkish) Lightning, and I have made more money making shots with my 97 than any other air rifle I have owned. Nice Lineup you have there!

Zut your not alone, I’m also a rookie. Both your rifles are awesome. ironically I had both his rifles out last night and I did notice how the 35e was getting smoother. The breach closes so much easier.

Thanks, I agree totally. Have the 77, 80, 90 and 97 in .25. The 77 and 97 are deadly accurate. Crow

Today it was the Gamo CFX
20221027_213840.jpg

I know I know, it's just a crappy gamo. But it is a fixed barrel springer so of course I need one :) .
Really though the only bad thing is the strange loading system. However there is no pinch point so at least there's one less thing to worry about.

Pros;
Light, cocks easy, manual safety (blade style that I prefer), good power, reasonably accurate, no anti beartrap needed.

Cons;
Kicks like a mule, hold sensitive, pain in the ass to load.

The CFX loading breech reminds me of the old BSA Superstar underlevers. My 97 is synthetic stocked and the recoil was more noticeable. I added some heavy packing foam from a pellet order and it helped dampen the vibration.

My buddy has one, he’s more than happy. Crow
I found the JSB Express the most accurate in my 97 Mk3.
Same here. Crow

I had one back in 09 and traded it and a Diana 34 for something. It shot straight while I owned it. It had a GRT III trigger in it. I regret getting rid of it. It would have made a good rig for the skiff. CF

I've just spent the day messing around with the GRT4 trigger upgrade and it's made this gun so fun to shoot.

Today I grabbed 2 lams. A HW77 and a HW97K both .177. First the 77, I’m clawing and battling the cocking arm, I just about broke all my fingernails trying to release the arm. Yesterday I was shooting my TX200’s just pull the lever. Once I figured out to push the button I was OK. LOL. View attachment 272558 This 77 has the longer barrel which makes the cocking easier. Once I zeroed my scope at 30 yds. this baby not just hit the spinners but most the time in the centre. Used JSB 10.34 same weight as Hades.
This 97 makes no mistakes, I do. Again same as the 77, once zeroed spot on. View attachment 272557 I favour the looks of the 97 because of the barrel weight. Heavy winds today. These two are so accurate you can almost control the ricochet. Definitely good enough for the girls I go out with.

Wow $64,000 question. My guns are all stock, no modifications.
The TX’s, I like the feel better and are extremely accurate. The breach size and the bear trap are my problem. I wish there was a release button on cocking arm. One of my TX’s is dirty to release.
‘The 77 and 97 half a doz. to 1, 6 to the other. I probably like the 97 over the 77, I have 3 thumb holes and the looks with no sights I favor. Both great guns. I don’t mind the longer barrel on 2 of my 77’s.
All in all I would favour the 97 if I had to pick 1. All close.
Sounds like you need a 97 or 2. Good luck. Crow

Spent some time shooting the Mendoza .22 Edge .25 and the 135 .30

Here are 20 shots 135 .30 at a coffee can filled with dirt. Using shooting stick at around 38 yards open sights. My favorite rockchuck gun.View attachment 301491View attachment 301492View attachment 301493
Nice shooting. You inspired me last week to get out my 135. No injuries. Impressive gun. 35 yds. iron sights. My eyes would never allow. Crow
Today I got off a couple of dozen shots with my old AA Bora.
It doesn't perform like it used to :(

Surely it can't be me who's not performing like I used to...

Nah, perish the thought!
Damn pellets. Crow
