What springer did you shoot today?

I researched the hell out of them. I like 3 legs, easy to stabilize. I added these feet to give it better stability, View attachment 306996 especially in the field. It spins 360 deg.
I saw one, looked like NASA built it. And it would have a NASA price. You would put in your living room, it was so nice.
The Stable table is fully adjustable and fast to make adjustments. Crow
We just ordered a couple of the Birchwood Casey Xtreme. Tripod legs, 360 degree swivel, but padded seat with a back rest. Only complaint about it seems to be undersized screws for the gun rest and we won’t be using that anyway. And if we ever wanted to I’m intimately acquainted with the fastener section at Ace ha ha ha.

Rain day, gun day. Bit of a change, but still springers, pistols. And do these beauties need some tweaking. A Beeman P1 .22 and P11 .22 as well a HW70 .177. View attachment 304630 The Beeman’s I couldn’t sight in a target at 10 yds. But I could hit a plate no problem at 35 yds.
‘The 70 is a sweet pistol. I’m going to put these in the rotation. Super challenging.
Can anyone recommend a scope or sights for the Beeman’s?

The other salient point. The Caldwell is $240. The Birchwood Casey below this and most comparable to the Caldwell is $199. The one we bought is usually $230 but Midway had on sale for $135. Should be 2 left unless someone else went shopping after we finished.

Had my little HW 57 and FWB Sport out for a while. The HW has diopter sights, the FWB a 2-7 scope. Was shooting hanging soda cans at 15 yards with the HW, acorns with the FWB. All shooting was done standing, HW was totally freehand, I did use a standing umbrella for a rest with the FWB, not totally steady but a big help on those tiny acorns.

My LGV Challenger Ultra. It shoots the RWS SuperDomes and RWS SuperMags to the same POI @ 50'. One a wadcutter 9.3gr, the other a domed @ 8.3gr. Same, exact POI. Amazing rifles these LGVs.

Nice 97.
Is that an add on iron sight? Crow

Ugly Mike, I’m sure your familiar with the Walther LGU’s and LGV’s. I have a LGU Varmint, and love it.
Is the chalangrer ultra as good as or similar to the Walther models?

That’s a awesome price. This past summer I paid $340 plus .13% tax for mine. Call the Police, I got robbed. Crow
Awesome shooting, your constant.
I think I can squeeze a 50 ft. range in my basement. 22 f. with a crappy wind today. Crow

Your a better man than I am. My shooting standing would be erratic. Crow

Went out in morning with Diana 54 and TX200 Hunter. 4138A78B-FC0E-4AB4-BE24-DB1AA928C6F6.jpeg I’m still amazed of the accuracy at 45 yds. with a gun that feels like it’s falling apart. But so smooth.
How can this gun be hard on scopes?
The TX was deadly right out of the gate. Little trouble loading .177 in breach with the cold, 22 f. The biggest issue is releasing the cocking arm from the spring loaded lock. The 97’s have a button to release the arm. Much more user friendly.
In afternoon I took out a FWB Sport and TX200 Hunter .22. 6D439803-671E-47FB-841F-CCB2CBE9C164.jpeg The sport and most my rifles are just breaking in nicely. Every time I shoot this gem I’m amazed. When I first got it, it was tight. Crow

Crosman pistol in .22, Gamo Magnum in .22, Gamo Maxxim in .22, BenjaminView attachment 295682 Prowler in .177, Crosman pumper in .177 and a Red Ryder for kicks.
Doc, How do you like the Prowler? I am considering it for my 1st air rifle. I want to just start plinking but later on want to start some NRA silhouette

I'm not saying that I never miss some, but it's more fun and demanding than shooting at a bench with rests. If I were not so old and stiff I would get a matt and do some prone, kneeling and sitting like I did in ROTC smallbore about 60 years ago, but getting up and down is no fun, and sitting and kneeling, no way am I folding up in those positions, so that leaves a bench and offhand for me, and offhand is more fun. Soda cans are fine totally offhand, I do need a rest for the acorns, and it's fun to see one there and suddenly dissapear, sometimes when one explodes it takes out one to the side, so two, sometimes three with one shot.

My patio is uncovered and I have one of the Caldwell stable tables set up. The top is padded with a heavy canvas tarp, then I have an adjustable benchrest type tripod and rear bag set up. When not used I have a small oval type washtub to cover them so I do not have to take in and out., then another large tarp to cover everything.

I had the Diana Octoberfest out this afternoon before the light wen dim. Gamo lead BB seemed to want to jam in the mag, so put some of the H&N smart shot bb's in. Tin cans at 10 - 12 meters were a blast. Light weight soda cans hanging on nylon cord about 18" long would jump back almost enough enough to wrap around the hanging point. Fun to stand up and shoot rapidly, You can
repeat fast enough to have a moving target.

The sights are rather crude, small and fine, but good enough for close range plinking, almost instinctive shooting.

I don’t shoot very often offhand. Just don’t have the strength or maybe the know how to make it easier. I’m sure even your stance will make a difference. Most days I’m on the bench 2-4 hours. Also my range is challenging to me. Distance and size of target make it interesting.
My buddy who cut my spinners, just got a new C&C machine and needs to practice using it, told me yesterday, more spinners coming, animals and soldiers.
I also shoot different guns everyday, they all have their characteristics. I use the front bag which sometimes doesn’t help.Kneeling getting down, not going to happen. Knees are euchred, dirt bikes and down hill skiing payback.
I’m fortunate my wife doesn’t complain with me leaving 2 stable tables on porch permanently, but I do use them daily.
It’s amazing how many different ways there are to shoot a rifle. I’m almost ready to bring out the mirrors. Crow

Your luckier than me. I will have to snag some H&N’s, I’ve still got 2 jammed.
Sounds like a blast. Crow
