What springer did you shoot today?

I'm not saying that I never miss some, but it's more fun and demanding than shooting at a bench with rests. If I were not so old and stiff I would get a matt and do some prone, kneeling and sitting like I did in ROTC smallbore about 60 years ago, but getting up and down is no fun, and sitting and kneeling, no way am I folding up in those positions, so that leaves a bench and offhand for me, and offhand is more fun. Soda cans are fine totally offhand, I do need a rest for the acorns, and it's fun to see one there and suddenly dissapear, sometimes when one explodes it takes out one to the side, so two, sometimes three with one shot.

My patio is uncovered and I have one of the Caldwell stable tables set up. The top is padded with a heavy canvas tarp, then I have an adjustable benchrest type tripod and rear bag set up. When not used I have a small oval type washtub to cover them so I do not have to take in and out., then another large tarp to cover everything.
Old and stiff remedy = prone on a table , actually a stand i built 2x4 legs braced with my overkill way of building things .
also double as a wood working table outside .

Had a guy on his way to my place, I had some Ridgid plumbing tools for sale. This morning and afternoon I took these 5 out. 7C585BD2-CAE3-4878-812B-30DDC55C7884.jpeg. The guy arrives, small talk he tells me he’s from Benoir Lake. I say my buddy Les —— lives there. He says Les’s son is his best friend. I say shut up, Les was my best friend. Small world, wouldn’t want to paint it. He spent $500. make my day. Can you say Element.
I took my Air Max scope into dealers yesterday he fixed it, I put back on the 35e. and she’s working like a dream. Even risky shots over car to 45 yd. range. 348AE696-9117-40AB-8B23-6182ED844B11.jpeg
Also R7 .177, HW30 .22, HW95 .177 and a Beeman R9 .20. After shooting the 95 and R9 then switching to the the 30 it seemed like delayed action. Great day so far.
Having snow on everything has it’s advantages. Easy to scope in your rifle. And today it’s melting so when hit you get sound and splash. Crow

Finally stopped raining yesterday afternoon. Grabbed my .177 Diana 34 and just stood out at 20 yards and shot spinners. And a couple 20 oz Coke bottles with Umarex blaster caps on them ha ha ha. Man, those are LOUD when they explode! The 34 is an underrated little gun IMO. Not fancy, but accurate and really easy to shoot standing. Rain coming again overnight, staying through Friday. Better get out and shoot a little this afternoon.

Sometimes when I shoot at nite time and it’s raining. Some shots hit rain drops on way to target and explode mid air. Really cool.
I’ve sold one gun, a Diana 34 .177. Regret it now. Crow

It was semi- decent weather here today. 60°F started with no wind. It developed into 6 to 10 mph 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock over the course of the 50 yard USBR (Green Monster) and .177 50 yard challenge targets. I was recording so I should have it on video as well.

TX200 MKIII using weight sorted AA Field Heavy 10.3 ( at 10.3). It was 5 shots at 0.46."

Very cool. Have to try that after we’re set up to shoot from indoors. Get another 34 and put a peep on it. Excellent. My early morning/late night critter eradicator. Shot it’s big sister last night. Diana Model 52 Luxus .177. Finally getting a handle on it. It’s the most sensitive of my guns, to both hold and trigger pull. Punishes you if you get it wrong, rewards you if you get it right. Mostly right yesterday ringing up spinners and Cooper at 25 yards. Even shot a few standing off hand which takes some effort and concentration with this gun. And such a unique gun, I know of only one other person on any of the forums that has one. A guy in Finland (I think?) has one in .22. I’ve asked for right of first refusal if he ever decides to sell. So, there you go Crow. A Grail you can add to your list ha ha ha. Basically a 54 with recoil. And less weight.

It finally stopped raining so I got out with my HW35e for a few shots. It's equipped with a post in the globe front and an Anschutz diopter on the rear with a Gehmann adjustable iris. I had lined up some red oak acorns on an old sawhorse, thinking to shoot some with my grandson, but he was throwing a football with his dad so I shot some. Last week I thought I was doing good hitting them with my FWB Sport with a 2-7 scope standing with a rest. Today I was hitting them regular totally offhand, no rest using iron sights, and both times the range was the same, ten meters. Not saying I hit them every time but about 7 out ten shots were hits.

Took my HW77 out this afternoon for a trial on the acorns, I have a double diopter set up on it and did not do quite as well as I did earlier with the 35e. I think the extra weight makes it more difficult for me to hold offhand like I was shooting. I did notice one thing, after the rain the new soda cans I had hanging were full of water and it tended to punch all the way through, water was pouring out two sides after a shot.

That’s wicked. I’m going to try some offhand tomorrow. Your a better man than I am. Have 3 rifles lined up for tomorrow with iron sights. Crow
Shooting the Brothers today.
HW35E and the HW80. Wow what a difference in the shot cycle!! LOL Both can just stack pellets. The 80 is really breaking in. About 750 pellets thru it and it is getting smoother and less spring noise. The Weihracuh's really do break-in nicely.

Liking the brothers.
Most my guns have just broken in recently, what a difference. Crow

I’d have a hard time holding a 77 steady. I may use a 50 or 30.
My cans won’t hold water. 00B2380C-744F-4DCC-A245-8096E846028D.jpeg I wired 3 cans to make it more difficult to cut in half. D6E6C335-7317-41AF-961C-A14D8BDB85BF.jpeg Crow
