Acorn at 10 meters. My eyes are a year past due for upgrade. Keep this up I’ll need a dog. CrowIt's rather neat shooting acorns. At ten meters I can barely see them with the naked eye and iron sights. When you hit one it is there one second and gone the next. I need to get out and try raking some up for use later on, maybe paint some of them bright colors so I can see them at a further distance.
Great idea , thanks for the reminder to get some. Crowmulti color paint balls are fairly cheap as targets , but acorns are free
I'll have to try some. Does the outer shell dissolve in rain?the good thing about paint balls is they are non toxic and it washes off .
where i toss them as targets is a steep slope , they disappear in the leavesI'll have to try some. Does the outer shell dissolve in rain?
When you hit them with a springer do they splatter or just get knocked off? Crowthe good thing about paint balls is they are non toxic and it washes off .
Nice gun, I admire your collection and talent. CrowShot this one the other evening. At 17 ft lb it just snaps! when fired. Shot it right after my HW95 .22. The HW jolts compared to the .177 Theoben. It's always interesting reading what guys "know" about a Theoben Sirocco Deluxe having never even handled one. Still love this gun after 34 years. Weighs about the same as the 95. The Anschutz barrel does it's job. Never been apart. Some consider these long stroke pre HE rams to be smoother.
I have another in .22.

Great gun, that’s the gun I shot Sunday. Mine is just breaking in nicely. Enjoy. CrowToday was my FWB 124 sport. Indoors 22y. Shot pretty well. First time I got to test it in good conditions where I could assess it’s accuracy and velocity.
Oh ya. The game just changed. Very similar. Mine have the three legs which I found dug in. I put these feet I got off a pool table. Made a huge difference especially on grass. After almost 5" of rain overnight Friday to Saturday morning today was a beautiful day. Kim changed her mind on the whole waiting until Xmas thing so we decided to test out the new benches. Pretty happy with them other than a couple minor things, most significant being that one of the plastic knobs on a "Delta bolt" snapped when tightening. Still usable since it has a Phillips slotted head beneath, just a little less convenient. Will call them for a replacement this week. Other than that built like a tank and very stable. More on them after we use them a bit. Yard still pretty wet so we set up at edge of drive which is 18 yd. Going to demo our old shop soon and we have old carpet for disposal stuffed on this side so it's a perfect backstop.
HW95 and HW50 both in .22 and then since it was 78 degrees I couldn't resist shooting my 2300S a little from 11M. 10M mark in the yard was still too wet ha ha. Kim shot great, she hasn't used this rifle in a while so I was glad she took it out. Great time.

Birchwood Casey Xtreme Shooting Bench. We caught it on sale at Midway for $135 and couldn’t order fast enough. Looks like they’re back to full price. Really enjoyed shooting from it. Kim did too. Breaks down in about 1 minute if you want to move it or store it, about the same to put together. The basket, hook, and cup holder are a nice touch. A few things. What is that shooting table?
I like your choice of rifles. Ya the Sport, sweet gun. Mine just gets better almost every time I use it. I’m envious of your weather. CrowI the three out today, weather is perfect. Last night I readjusted the little 2-7 Airmax on my FWB Sport and shot it thinking the zero would have changed, first three shots , tiny group dead center at 10 yards, then just checking my HW97kt with Airmax Compact 4-16 and the AA TX200 with Sidewinder 4.5-14 I was surprised the FWB was more consistant shooting smaller groups. The other two were tending to throw some flyers opening my groups . The little FWB being ligher is a bit more fun to shoot.
I’m not familiar with this rifle. Excellent condition for an older rifle. If it’s anything like my 90’s .20 and .25, then I know what your talking about. Enjoy CrowI put my Theoben Crusader .20 through its paces today with about 50 shots...it's still getting settled in from service a year and a half ago...trigger, cocking & firing cycle were all good...no groups to write home about mainly because I haven't been practicing with springers at all lately and a Crusader is difficult enough when in mid season form to shoot well! Didn't crony it but it sure sounded like it hadn't lost anything...even considered ear plugs...Crusaders are NOT back yard friendly! After I cleaned and put that one away I got out my HW97 .177 12fpe gun, tuned by member Lewis, what a difference but I was pretty tired from cocking the Crusader but still shot some better groups...shooting springers will keep a guy honest...to practice...had a great shooting session was 75* here in Florida...love this sport!View attachment 309353
You have to like great results when breaking in a new rifle. I’m checking on a 460 tomorrow, used. Enjoy your new rifle. CrowWent through the Diana 280 today and checked scope/stock screws and found only the rear receiver screw needed a bit of tightening up, just over a 500 tin through so things are still settling in.
This thing keeps impressing me, by far the most accurate break barrel I've ever had.

Both awesome rifles. And two of the best lookers. CrowWent .22 cal today, using the AA Prosport and HW 98. I had finally figured out the way to hold the Prosport to make cocking easier. Keeping my right hand on pistol grip, I set the buttstock on my chest , grab tip of cocking arm with left hand and give a brisk pull and it's fairly easy. If I try to cock slowly it seems to take a lot more effort. I had not shot it much so did a bit a adjustment one the Sportsmatch adjustable mount then fine tuned with turrets. Minor adjustments to the 98, I did not try for groups at anything over ten yards, but both were slamming a little hanging steel diamond about 1 1/2 inches on an edge, the .22 hits a lot harder than the .177. Both were also good at hitting little acorns.
