What springer did you shoot today?

She tried but just could not get into shooting , We both got CCl permits when we moved here as we live outside of town , calling the cop's is a joke time wise .
She needs a challenge. Sometimes targets work. When I I'm instigating a shoot I'll pit two in a match like playing cards. So if a third person comes in, half of the battle is done.

Shot my new to me Gen 2 Bone Collector.
Stacking pellets at 15 yards.
Time to stretch it out and see how “Loopy” this .22 is.
It's hard for me to get used to the term "Loopy". I guess it's the top of a loop? The worst is an "Avalanche" that's when the top of a loop has a snap roll in it. Those usualy only happen when you load one up backwards. 👍

It's actually fun and challenging, to shoot long range, but you add two fundamentals. The wind is exponentially worse, and cant error correction is critical.

been cold here lucky i have a dual fuel system . it has warmed up 5 degrees so far but only a 52 degree day . I am tempted to go an extra 1000 miles on the way home from my daughters house in Campbell CA and stop in AOA /pick up an HW30 in .20 , but no , wife will be in the truck so this is just a dream.
today is going to be Iron Sights day .
Yeah that would be a cool stop for sure. I'm on the east coast so a dream for me as well..lol.

I’m not sure about the “Loopy”. I just see it come up quite often on here, to go .177 or .20 because .22 is so loopy. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yup, it is the "go too" term for excessive long range drop.
Another one that bugs me is "Droop" when a gun shoots low but doesn't have a visibly drooping barrel.
👍

Ok. NEWB question on Droop. I’m not sure I understand how you determine the gun shooting low?
Say I take a new pellet rifle and mount the scope. Weather it’s low, high, left, right. I adjust the scope to get it shooting where I’m aiming.
How then do I realize I have barrel droop?

By centering the scope before mounting it then shooting to see where the gun is shooting compared to where the reciever is aiming.

So which is it, loopy, droopy or a rainbow..lol.?
I like the phrase, "lobbing mortars".

I’m into to shooting under the lites. Getting dark at 6 pm.
Started with a HW98 .22. Dream rifle. Great gun for the tree rats. View attachment 504887Surprising how good the picture turned out for how dark it was.
Next hammer or gun a Diana 460 .22 cal.View attachment 504888 This gun has no problem with accuracy at 47 yds. Crow
Very cool setup. Something I aspire to have.

Happy Shooting. And I’m liking the .22 cal love. Thanks

Need to Halloween up your range.

Need to Halloween up your range.
I normally do Oct. 1. This year it was Oct. 10 when I realized I was late a week and a half. Takes 2 days to put up. Getting ready for winter. 34F. this morning
Here’s the range last year. Took shot with one of my drones.

I was having trouble responding to your post yesterday. I wound up having to change internet carriers to fix it?

Anyway, droop can be checked by mounting an opticly centered scope, then shooting to find the point of impact compared to the point of aim, before adjusting it.
The target that I included shows my 97K's first five shots at 30 yards with an opticly centered scope.

That info let me know that I was going to need moa adjustable rings to raise the back of the scope to compensate for that misalignment. My plan was shooting to out 75 yards.

Trying to adjust that out of the scope turrets can get you too close to the scopes stops, and I think that's a bad idea especially with a springer beating on it.
👍

Perfect explanation. Much appreciated.

A night shoot and a still night. This is the best shooting.
My first Weihrauch I bought a HW90 .25.

I’m blown away with this gun. Set a 18 bar this gun destroys.
This is 10 shots at a cans 35 yds.

Using a Hades round. The .25 more than mangles.
Next rifle up a HW95 .177.
Pic won’t come up. A gem of a rifle. A pleasure to shoot.
Here’s a sweet shot I got off my deck tonite. The moon and Venus

So I have drank the Kool-aid and really wanted to shoot the gateway springer....HW30 (in .177). Krale is amazing..$249, $304 delivered (in 4 days!). Cleaned the barrel and put about 50 pellets through it in my indoor (garage) range. Finally, a nice day in South Florida, sighted in at 20 yards, amazing accuracy, even with the open sights and wind. I now understand the hype...diminutive, comfortable, smooth, and repeatable. I really want to keep the open sights, but just can't see the impact point. I'll have to scope it. But the accuracy deserves a scope! Cheers! Rick
