What springer did you shoot today?

Shot the 97K yesterday, put away the bags and I'm back on the sticks, I'm a little rusty off the sticks now from a long layoff. Anyway, the 97K will not be shot again for a while because I decided I can't stand that factory orange finish any longer..lol. However it turns out I'll be much happier than the way it was...
Starting the stripping process....

Way to jump in T!

Cool target and guns. Are you refinishing the violin? Mines soaking overnight wrapped in plastic..lol.
I am. I’m scraping the finish off. I tested with two paint strippers and they didn’t work. They are old products so I don’t know if they lose their potency if left sitting for long periods. It’s walnut but it did have some color in the finish because the wood is lighter after being scraped.

Whatever is coming off of mine looks like 1/32" thick..lol. Can't imagine scrapping that off dry, I didn't realize that there was that much finish over the wood. Good luck on the walnut, I'm sure it will look amazing.

Whatever is on mine scrapes off really easily. I just haven’t put much time into it. Busy with life…

Stock has been stripped of the old finish, whatever it was, it was thick and gooey

I let it dry out overnight and then went over it with 120 grit to try and get some of the stain out.

Still a lot of work to go to get it ready to finish, but I'm making progress. I'll be shooting the prosport while the 97K is in rehab.

Careful with that TnT, Crow. We don't want to lose you! 😄
It was close. Sad thing is I had it on once, and I had to take it off, because I forgot to put the barrel on. Only had 17 guns with this connection. I can hardly wait. Crow
I like watching the TBT channel.✅
His procedures are no nonsense. Crow

My lovely maple pieces I made to remove the trigger block worked a few times. View attachment 510912Back to the adjustable wrench. Crow
This HW50 is a beater I scored a few weeks ago. View attachment 510915The 3 looks backward and looks like they struck it twice. Crow
It could be, or maybe it was an 8. Looks like they hit all the numbers twice.

I keep up on this thread, and am working my way up to opening up my HW50s and putting in my TBT kit, checking for galling, and slightly lessening the trigger weight.

John I bought a chronograph. It arrived a week faster than expected from Australia. I bought it through Pyramid Air, expecting that it would come from stock in the US, but no harm occurred. Also digging through the forum I found out about Chapman screwdrivers.

To the Chrony results. I was using FTT pellets which seem to group better than the others I tried. Does anyone have a prediction of what power i’ll get from the TBT maxi kit? I’m not power obsessed, but I wouldn’t mind a bit more because I plan to shoot it at the local Field Target club.

Can’t help you. Nice rifle. Crow

Last night I dismantled a HW95 .177. Put this kit in along with a Vortek piston seal.

Easy as pie. I believe a low power one. My crony is in shop. Cleaned the insides and put back together.

What a difference. Not going to be my last low power.
‘Nasty weather. Windy as hell even though I’m sheltered.

This is behind me. That wind is coming from the North. I could only shoot an hour, 50F. and the wind wins again. Crow
