What springer did you shoot today?

The TX200 won today's airgun lottery as "rifle for the day". Using a lottery system insures that we all get equal trigger time (and prevents dissension in the cabinet 😉 ).

As springers typically don't care for being shot off of benchrests I shoot them offhand. The TX200 is hefty to start with and even more so with the GinB stock so I'll shoot three or four sessions (of five targets of 5 shots) over the course of the day. It's at factory FAC power at the moment but I'll be installing a 12 FPE spring for indoor shooting this winter.

Cheers!

Swapped scopes and re-zeroed this evening.

Stock has been stripped of the old finish, whatever it was, it was thick and gooeyView attachment 510581
I let it dry out overnight and then went over it with 120 grit to try and get some of the stain out.

Still a lot of work to go to get it ready to finish, but I'm making progress. I'll be shooting the prosport while the 97K is in rehab.
Going to stain it? Or going Blonde lol

Their trying to fatten up for winter like the grizzly's do
I put a jacket on, in the heat, to help keep them off.
Its hard to concentrate with those mosquito attacks.
I swapped scopes aligned and reset them, took the sights off the 95, test fired and zeroed both guns, and swatting mosquitos the whole time.
👍

Been there and done that. I grew up in W. Monroe, plenty of swampy area just north and south of us, river going through town, so mosquito heaven. I have been living in E. Texas for the last 40 years, two lakes to west and northwest, along with numerous ponds and a small private lake within walking distance. We have a creek bottom just over the hill that floods, and breeds mosquitoes. I actually mowed the yard last week, and it still looks to be growing and may need it again before years end, and we still have plenty of green leaves on oak trees so, I may just end up mowing leaves and grass. by thanksgiving.

The cold doesn’t bother me but the wind does, so I worked on guns in my shop.
Putting another TBT spring set in a HW95 .22. I find the 95 family easy to disassemble to work on. Wish the 35, 77, 80 and 97 were the same.
This piston seal, doesn’t have 2000 rounds through it.
