I can relate on the chrony, I had a Alpha shooting chrony for years. A new battery is a must for it to work decent. But even then it would miss shots, give errors and screw up the whole string which was very annoying. Outside depending on the sun angle or cloud cover, I would get different readings. Then I made some lights to go on the sky screens and used it in the garage mostly, andI finaly did a few shots this evening well after dark.
I mounted the HW35's scope on the HW30, and shot with scope opticaly centered, and the rings at zero moa. Range was 30 yards. It shot 28 MOA low., with .20 cal H&N FTT. So I raised the moa by putting a 7/64" Allen bit under the ring adjustment and tightened them up.
Now it's shooting 48 MOA high. That's 76 moa of movement with basicly 1/8" adjustment. That info can give me a target measurement to set the moa as desired, rather than trial and error, (my usual method).
I wanted the FTT pellets ballistic info to compare the trajectories of the (30 in .20), to the (35 in .22). I have the 35's info, but not the 30's. I suspect that they will have comparable drop at 75y. So I pulled out the chrony and set it up, turned it on and shot five shots, but it never registered a shot. Then the battery went dead.
I've had this in my mind to do since I got the scope, but I'm thinking that the 35 will be here before I get it done anyway.
I will be shooting PB's with my brother all day tomorrow, so maybe Sunday after church.
Mine is a little easier. It's an F X radar.I can relate on the chrony, I had a Alpha shooting chrony for years. A new battery is a must for it to work decent. that eliminated most of the problems. Still a PIA to set up and time consuming. With my new Garmin all that is thing of the past, this thing works every time, any where, and sets up in 2 mins, but cost 5X as much. Worth it? Every penny.
Oh, well that's better..lol. Post some pics when it works again.Mine is a little easier. It's an F X radar.
I had a server error and couldn't send a pic of it.
It is mounted on a mic stand that I put under the barrel.
That I have to see, on my bucket list. CrowI MEANT FLAPPING MY ARMS MR CROW. B.

I scored the FX, the Garmin was out of stock. Worked great but now it’s not picking up .177 cal. So disappointing. I took it in to AGS. He tested it with a PCP. Said it worked flawless. Got it home. Tried with 3 different rifles .177, not one worked. Can’t have this.I can relate on the chrony, I had a Alpha shooting chrony for years. A new battery is a must for it to work decent. That is unacceptable for a 1K + chronograph. I would be sending it in to FX or whoever for repair or replacement. That said, my Garmin hasn't missed with my air riles yet. At the PB range I could make it miss when firing rapid fire with a AR15, but that was expected. Slow fire never missed a shot. And $400 less than FX cost.I scored the FX, the Garmin was out of stock. A big thing I didn’t like of the FX was it doesn’t record under 400 fps. HW30 .22 cal. also I shoot sling shots. Crow
I’m pissed. I’ve changed springs in close to 10 springers in last month, no crony. That is unacceptable for a 1K + chronograph. I would be sending it in to FX or whoever for repair or replacement. Oh yeah, I don't own any PCP's...lol.
I’ve made dozens of sling shots over the years, my dad had a wood shop. But recently I bought my first Wrist Rocket and lots of ammo. Totally hooked again. CrowAhhh...sling shots ...brings back memories of my wrist rocket ,marbles, and birds dropping sitting under the cherry trees in Mr. Smiths orchard ! I also made a shoulder holster from a Levi pant leg for my Benjamen pump pellet pistol.......so I could wear a coat and keep it hidden. No cell phones back then...late 60's
Yeah, that wouldn't work for me.I’m pissed. I’ve changed springs in close to 10 springers in last month, no crony.
Works great for all other cal. Crow

Maybe it wasn't lined up right before. Need to keep an on it for sure.I tried the FX on the HW50 .20. Worked like a dream. I shot the HW50 1968 right after and it picked it up just over 400 fps. Some worked most didn’t. Grabbed a HW30 .177and it worked like a charm. Don’t get it. Tomorrow I’ll try a 97 or 95 .177.
I have to say with the Vortek the HW50 .20 is now in my favorites. Only shot to 35 yds. but flawless. It was 580 fps before and 650 fps after. JSB 13.??. Crow
