What springer did you shoot today?

Hey .20cal, did the cat have a comment on that new acquisition? It looks nice. But the rat target reminds me of a politician. Caught with his hand in the candy jar. Be Well Brothers, B.
I am allways amazed at the size of the hole that .20 cal puts in that Rat. Lol

I still have a few springs to install. This spring is one of my first 12 FPE.

Got it in last night, been apart for a few days. Hard time sleeping, couldn’t wait to shoot.
Today serious road trip, couldn’t wait to get back. And finally before dark got the chance, 40 F.

I am most impressed with this gun’s performance. Just a thunk sound. Crony it tomorrow. Crow

HW97 with a Tin Bum Tune kit installed by member Lewis...Haven't shot it in six weeks. Nice " springer" weather today here in Florida...around 81...First 20 shots out of the gun case at 30 yds off my knee, didn't even touch the scope...very easy rig to shoot accurately....It's worthy of a nicer stock though. Hats off to member Lewis for setting this one up...12 fpe...this HW97 will SHOOT!!!

81 wow, that's mowing weather, which I don't like, the mowing part that is. You could get one of those CS500 walnut stocks, or you could refinish yours to your liking, that's what I did.

I spent another evening with the 35e today. We're breaking each other in, Lol picking up where we left off yesterday.
Shooting JSB 13.43s, I was getting 3/4" groups with a flyer here and there, with or without the scope. About the time I would get settled, my poi would shift with scope slipping issues. Once I got it settled using 22 lbs. on the torque driver, I was able to do some plinking late into the evening by the flashlight.

Today, I put up a 50-yard bench rest target and started shooting 5 shot groups on each target at 30 yards.
I started with the JSB 13.43's and had the same results as the day before.

Next up was with JSB 14.35's, with slightly worse results and a poi shift, high and left, to which I added some correction.

Next up was H&N Barracuda 18's. With similar results however, the group size shrunk to 7/16" touching. At the same time, the group was still 2 moa left and 1 moa high. So I corrected that and shot two groups just to the left of the dead center.

Next up was the Hunter extremes, which weren't quite as tight as the Cuda's, but nice.
At this point, the scope went to moving again, and that's when I gave it up.

At this point, I have to address the slipping issue and figure out a cure.
I had considered drilling a pin in the rings, but I didn't think there was room because of the moa adjustment there.
An idea that I've been playing with is to put a ball bearing in the scope stop hole that the rings would pinch as they go back. I think that would work, but putting my hands on the right size bearing may wind up being a challenge.

Back at it soon, I hope. 👍

My favorite Beech stock finish so far! 👍

Use a separate stop behind the rear ring. I've made them from old scope rings, and use the stop pin to keep in place, then slide the rear ring up against it, it worked good. Beeman used to sell separate scope stops.

You did an excellent job on the stock. Blends in nicely with the steel. Crow

I edited your pic a little to show a little more detail 😎

I cronied this honey this morning. It’s shooting almost 200 fps slower than before the spring change.

Almost sounds like there’s a silencer on it.
Here’s 20 rounds 35 yds. Pulled 2. These aluminum targets are the best. Nail close to dime.

Lost a lot of snow. Been in 40’s. Crow
