I don't know that I could hit those bushings that accurately,Thanks. If you need one those pins I have several
extra's.

What is the diameter of the HW's receivers pin holes? So far it hasn't been a problem. I made the bushing .002" smaller than the receiver hole, and I made the pin hole .002 to .003 bigger than the pin, so it has a little play. Anyway I line up the pin and get it started, then push the ring base to the rear to take out any play, and then tighten the side clamp. Then I'll screw the pin in till it hits bottom, and back it off 1/8 of a turn. I usually blue locktite the pin so it stays where I set it at.
I imagine they vary somewhat, but on this HW30 they're .245 in diameter and about .100 deep. What is the diameter of the HW's receivers pin holes?
My original plan was to drop a chrome ball bearing in the pin hole that would be a tad taller than the rings so that the rings pinched and locked the bearing and the rings in position.
Does your ring base not have a stop pin in it? Every air gun ring I've ever bought came with a stop pin in one of the ring bases. What is the diameter of the HW's receivers pin holes?

If it did we wouldn't be having this conversation. LolDoes your ring base not have a stop pin in it? Every air gun ring I've ever bought came with a stop pin in one of the ring bases.
All day shoot, I’m envious. Happy birthday. CrowHad a great day Y'all
I shot nearly from sunup to sundown.
A great first day of being 69!
Back to work the weekend, and off Monday, but work the holiday, then back to regular scheduling.
A 6mm ball bearing would give you .0045" per side of play.Excellent info!
The ring to receiver clearance is .07. So a BB should just miss the rings if those measurements are correct? If so a .20 bearing would likely work.
A .25 cal bearing is ginormous on there.

Go ahead and drill and tap it, problem solved. If it did we wouldn't be having this conversation. Lol
Most rings don't have pins. Heres a West Hunter ring that I was marking to add a pin.View attachment 523856
I think that is a good plan!I would have to drill and tap that ring with all the problems you had. Maybe do it from now on? Be Well Brothers, 'dito.
Most likely metric 3 or 4mm I haven't checked one of those pins in awhile.I think that is a good plan!
I am tired of dealing with it, but my tools are scattered around here in boxes etc, so I'll make a trip to Ace today.
