What springer did you shoot today?

Referring to barrel bending.
I scored this from my store.

This is for straightening ice skate blades. We never used it. I‘ve bent hundreds of blades straight by hand. This was picked up in buy-out. I was going to modify it to fit a barrel. But read here to use the crotch of a tree, which makes sense to me. I have 1 gun that could be bent. Neat challenge someday. Crow

Yeah Dave,
I've bent the barrels on almost all of my Weihrauch's in my wood vise on my bench. 2 minutes and your done - very simple way to combat barrel droop.

I know once a blade was bent, it would easily favor the bend, once pressure was applied.
Would this weaken the barrel after repeated jacking?

Still battling the plague, could be withdrawal. Haven’t held a rifle since Sat. But just dying to get back in my shop and finish my gun rack. Also hoping to get my rifles from AOA soon. Crow
Hope you get better very soon . I will shoot extra pellets for you 😎

I am sure you would need to bend metal fast and sharply to cause any weak spot , your only bending Slowly a little at a time so no heat generated . Also your only bending maybe a 1/ 64 at a time , i might even say nudging the barrel , bending seems like an overkill word to use .

Makes sense. My blade takes more stress.

Appreciated and thanks.
It’s your idea for my gun rack. I‘ve finished in my head about- times. Going to be a massive improvement. Crow

Put about 80 shots down range with my HW30. This was after breaking it down, cleaning, deburring, and lubricating with Krytox. I didn't notice a significant difference, but was excited that it still functioned :). I had some time so I put a TbT kit into my Prosport and HW77k. Definitely an improvement with both, Nick's videos helped a ton. The Prosport is a great gateway to disassembling and reassembling a springer. Very simple. No longer intimidated by what most of you guys take for granted...Cheers! Rick

Sounds like you're becoming a springer tinkerer.
I always said it isn't rocket surgery..lol. The 77K is probably the hardest one you did, and you did it,
so now you're no longer a "weed hopper". You'll learn new tricks and short cuts every time you work on them.

I see the grass is still growing. This is my favorite time, because I don't have to mow any grass..😂

Also wondered how those TBT kits would do in the 97 and prosport. Did you get any numbers from the Garmin to share with us...?

I haven't shot the 77k yet since the new kit. But I shot the Prosport .22 a bit. One of its favorite pellets is the JTS 18.1. Despite the "Maxi" kit I lost about 50 fps from the original (557 average vs. 613). That equates to 12.5 fpe to 15.1 fpe. With a noticeable drop in the twang and a smoother shot cycle overall. Not upset at all with the lower power, will try a few other pellets, the JTS 16.1 was excellent in prior tests. But only 20 shots post-kit so I'll know more after some more testing.

They could speed up as they break in. You maybe able to space the kit up as well, depending on the guide measurements. But it's up to you to determine what you're after. I have my 97K spaced to the max (as in it won't cock with another .015") using the old JM QX4600 spring, and it only makes about 820fps with a 8.44.

Some quality time with Bess. She is dialed. The 1/2” spinner at 30 meters doesn’t stand a chance. This might be the most accurate gun that I own…boringly consistent and precise with the 8.64 FTT @ 13.5 fpe. The Heras 2-12, Burris Signature rings, and BKL 568 complement her well.
A note on the Burris rings….fantastic! It always bugged me when mounting a scope…when oftentimes the scope was significantly far from optical zero when zeroed with the rifle. Enter Burris Signature rings which allow the user to almost perfectly align the scope and bore. It took me several tries but I managed to be less than an inch from the bull at 20 meters by utilizing the spacers in the rings. Aside from this feature, the composite inserts actually aid in “gripping” the scope tube with 6 screws/cap and an inch of surface area to aid as well. This are the best scope rings I’ve used.

The result is a rock solid and consistent precision instrument that never fails to impress.

Yeah RCope,
You need to tune a few guns before you find “YOUR” perfect shot cycle.
The one where it’s in perfect harmony (Balance) between Power/Recoil - you can hear it too 👂.

Once you find that tune, most every tune foreword …… becomes finding that sweet spot for you in each rifle?

Have my FWB 300s set up outside right now. Just in for a bite of lunch. Still not feeling good , left knee and right hip hurting. I always thought this arthritis would sneak up on me, instead of falling like a ton of bricks. Anyway I have one of the fancy Gehmann rear Iris diopters and a plastic front dioipter, one with the beveled hole that creates a black ring when you look through it. I was chasing the bullseye, not really getting things as I would have liked and then though why not have some fun. I went from 10M paper target to about 30 yards swingers, that I can barely see and hitting regular, Most of the time I cannot see them move but can hear the hit. It's a bright sunny day, temp mid 60's and a light breeze so feels good outside. I think the way the sun hits my eyes and the sights affects my grouping today, it's relatively low in the sky this time of the rear, probably about 45 degrees to my right side. I could put up a patio umbrella but we are expecting an artic cold front in a couple of days on Sunday when high is predicted to be 65 and low 25. with strong winds.

Shot a new-to-me TX200. Got it for a good price on GB and when I consider the fact that it’s lefty, lovely walnut stock, in like-new condition (if it was shot, it was very little), and came with the scope and rings, I’m pretty happy. Deciding now which rifle I will send down the line to make permanent room to keep this. Chrono showed 14-15 ft-lb depending on pellet with the AEA 8.7 being the best performer so far. Shot about a tin over the course of four hours.

Debating whether to get this tuned and fully rigged for field target. This scope will certainly work and it shot well off of my shooting sticks.
