What springer did you shoot today?

Back with the 97 this evening.

I added another action target to the 75 yard range!

I only wobbled three, and had one slam dunk, in about twenty shots. That may be the best the 97 and I can do? For example most of those Crazy Eights hits were aimed at center mass with exception of wind compensation. Those POI's should be centered. 👍

Had a bit of time earlier, a beautiful day in South Florida...Did some pellet testing with my freshly cleaned and Krytox lubed HW50. Still a significant "twang", will have to tune it at some point with a kit. My two TbT kits have been great, but I'm open to other suggestions. The winner so far is the JTS 8.7's. The JBS 7.3's were a close second. Still have some AA and AEA pellets to test. Cheers! Rick

What kind of velocities does your 50 produce?

Nothing, Temp is about 34, humidity 88% We dodged a big bullet on snow, sleet and freezing rain last night, It stopped about 50 miles north of us. Had enough of that to last this old man a lifetime about 3 years ago when we had snow/sleet/snow and temps down to -6 or 8, Here in deep east Texas. Had a dose of that about two weeks prior to that, with a wet heavy snow, that brought down a feed line from power transformer to neighbors house across the street, that transformer also serviced my house so we were out for about 15 hours in sub freezing. All electric here so had to get my generator out. They had to get a tree triming service out before restoring service to trim trees in his yard. I did set up my generator before the next storm but we made it through fine although a lot of the power grid in Texas failed that time, big wake up call for the Texas power service companies.

The JTS 8.7 averaged 740 (10.6fpe), JSB 7.3 790 (10.1), JSB 10.3 660 (10.0), JTS 10.4 659 (10.0), JSB 13.4 545 (8.8), JSB 13.4 Redesign was too tight, just took one shot: 493 with 7.2 fpe.
The first 3 on that list were very accurate, the JTS 8.7 was the best, it also had the highest fpe and the lowest standard deviation (1.4!) for 10 shots.

Wow JK That sounds like our luck in the state of Misery. But you guys are not used to it. I have to shoot in the basement in this weather. Be Well Brothers, B.
Yes. Last Sunday got up, temp very low 70's that night low 20's, Just cannot get used to cold when it does not stay that way. Back in the 60's when I was in high school and college in NE Louisiana it tended to get cold and stay that way, but no longer.

That's sounds good. I need to try some of the JTS already. A HW50 might be a rifle I buy in the future, The little spwinger that could HW30, has me interested in the break barrels now.

The HW30 is like a gateway drug. Be careful, addiction is around the corner and we are all enablers :).

I have some JTS’s and like them but up here they cost more than JSB’s. I’m not paying more for a Chinese product.
My main stock of lead I have is JSB’s. then H+N’s. Crow

Took the 97K out to zero the new Sightron S1 today, and it started snowing before I was done shooting, ground covered now (6:54 PM eastern). This first target shows how much I'm off (still) using the zee ring inserts. I didn't feel like using all my day light trying to adjust it out, so I just dialed it out with the turrets.

After zeroing at 22 yards, I then took two shots at the 1/4" dots on the above ⬆️ target.

It will group all these pellets good at 22 yards, some better than the others.
Then I decided to have a German vs. Chinese shoot out, this is the first time I've shot these H&N's out of this 97K.
IMG_7996.jpeg

The Germans look pretty good at 22 yards, but I'll have to see how they group at 40 yards when I
get a good day for it. I also wonder if these chrony numbers were affected by the snow when I was shooting?

Next I tried one of JEFFPPC targets they shoot indoors at 22 yards. You get one point for a hit, and a half bonus point if the pellet stays inside the animal. I scored it 21 point and shot it while it was snowing..lol.

It's good to have the 97K up and running again.

I highly recommended the 30 for the obvious reasons, but it is also a great gun to use to share our experience with others. I handed mine to my brother recently he said, wow this is too easy! I told him that is because you didn't notice the primer settng on the far right! He said oh yeah, and shot it off as well.
