What springer did you shoot today?

Dovetail, I could go with the picatinny adapter. Stupid me actually didn't think of that. Maybe I'll order a pair to keep my options open. Thanks!
This is the adaptor I have on my prosport and 97K. With low rings it really doesn't make that much difference, and since using them I think it actually helps with my long shots.

Thanks, I have one of those with a smaller footprint and two even smaller ones that fit one ring. So I ordered the Signature Rings in 1" with the Weaver attachment. Thanks for the idea. I guess I'm a little slow today ;-)

Only thing about that adaptor I showed is it's a mount and forget. They don't like being taken on and off a lot. Aluminum threads don't last when squeezing and then using to open the clamp up.
Still they work good.

Nothing in the last two week. Between family visting, snow and other crap weather I haven't shot any airguns. Including my new to me 77. Ugh! Sorry. I had to vent as I sit here with 25mph winds and 18*F (w/o wind chill) and new snow on the ground. To think I moved to the south for nicer winters?
I loose my sence of pellet orientation when my figers get cold and have to look at them to be sure. 👀 👍

Shot only one this afternoon. Didn’t get above 20F. This is the rifle that got me hooked, now I have it. HW80 .22.

This gun is very accurate. Never been opened. Crow

I pulled an oiled patch then a clean patch, with only a slight discoloration today.
I can't remember how many tins through the 97 anymore. I switched back to FTT's today. It's exactly 20 clicks, or 5 moa of down to switch between JSB 13.73, and the FTT's, at 75 yards.

The wind was challenging, but I managed some pretty good Kentucky windage for a Louisiana raised Michigander. 😁

That hanging med bottle at 75y is on a long string. It hangs directly under the white pan up on the tree trunk. When the wind lays down.
👍
You have a nice breeze going there.💨💨💨

Rebuilt the 'ol 97 .22 with a Tinbum full power kit.

It's settling in about 670 fps and shoots great. I've got about 60 shots through it in the cold howling wind. Quite an improvement over the (3) factory springs.

It was quite a job threading the breech plug on there under preload. It had me sweating pellets for a few minutes. It's a whole lot more involved than the breakbarrels....

I have a set of 1" to 30mm adapters. I could probably send them for less than ? ? $6 USPS.
No charge for the parts. PM if thus will work. 👍

Yes it is, is this the first time you've done one?
Crow still fighting his 50 last I heard.

Yes. The first time.

I couldn't get enough grip to turn the breech when I got it up to the threads. It sits low in the compressor and i couldnt get my fingers around it. I needed a little strap wrench or something. I had a chain tong but that wasnt happening...

I improvised by using a tow strap with a plastic buckle stuffed in the trigger slot and a wrap around the breech. Once I got enough force to twist it to start the threads it went right on.

I'm making a hardwood block and a nylon strap that will make it an easy job. It took me 30 minutes to figure out what I needed to get it screwed on there. Once I decided on a strap around it the plan came together and things went together smoothly.

An impressive amount of preload. It's a bear trap in a pipe even when it's not cocked.

That's what I like about using the 30 to 31 coil springs in .120 wire, I can thread the end block on by hand. The JM hornet spring was a different story, and "hairy" getting that spring stuffed in there.

Those are sub 12 springs?

I see guys on youtube just leaning on it and screwing the plug in. I knew mine was going to be different. I'm glad I was prepared. Without a good jig to hold the gun and a tool to help start those threads it could turn into a disaster. The other rifles I've done are simple by comparison.

Yes around 12 to a little more depending on the pellet. With a 8.44 mine is about 820 fps. But I also have the spring spaced up to max, any more and the gun won't cock.

Nice gun. You can stuff the stock with foam or rags for a different feel. Crow

Trying to decide between a 50 and a 98.🤔
Oh, that’s easy. Both.
‘They’re both terrific. I’d would get the .20 cal. 98 at AoA. Or any cal. would wo

I’ve done 3 of my newer 50’s, no issue. This one is from 72 and probably been off a dozen times. It’s so sloppy, first 3 threads don’t catch.
Sometimes when you buy an older used rifle, you’re buying someone’s headache.
I haven’t even looked at it in last day. Just a scratch. Crow

I'd does resonate a little. The limbsaver pad helps a whole lot.

I'm tempted to squirt it full of "great stuff". I really like the synthetic stock on it. It can be a little hollow sounding. It's not a big concern but the next time I have a leftover can of spray foam I'm going to fill it up.
