What springer did you shoot today?

11F, but a priceless day. The sun keeps you warm. I came in for lunch, not to warm up. Shot a Diana 460 .22. This gun delivers a punch with accuracy. IMO if these guys eliminated the plastic sights, breach area and safety, they would be awesome guns. View attachment 532029Also shot this HW85 .22. Oct.30 I put in a Vortek spring and piston seal. Transformed into a snipers dream. It’s really a shame AoA doesn’t sell the 85. A favorite.View attachment 532031This day is absolutely gorgeous.
‘A few years back I had a rock in my lawn that took out my lawn mower, just at grass height. I dug it out.View attachment 532032That’s it Granite, 7’x8’x5’, six tons. Took 2 hours to drag to here. Check out that day. Crow
Yea that nose come, sight, trigger and guard need to go.

What does the 85 compare to power wise?

Eglin AFB, I won two first place trophies there my first two seasons of RC precision aerobatics.
They had designated an area not far from base housing, back leading to the bay as an airgun/bb gun area. I tried it once it was miserable, not really set up for anything, just bare white sand dunes. I was in base housing, close the the hospital where I was assigned, so made a pellet trap and shot from one bedroom down a hall into the other bedroom, probably a bit over 30 feet.

The 85 is the same power plant as the 95 and 98 but with the long barrel. So much easier to Jack. I’m thinking on some cool diopter sights. Not desirable to walk through the woods, I wouldn’t think.
I really like shooting the 85. Crow

I used to build f3a competition RC planes back then. In my shop I had a desk with an HW70 pistol in it, and a Marksman Trap in a bookcase at the other end. I would sit and shoot there often times.

Speaking of 95's I just got mine back from Shane at AoA. I just pulled it out of the box, and mounted the scope.

I shot the first shot way high, then remembered that I had put it away zeroed for JSB 13.73'.
So I did the same thing I do with the 97, when switching to FTT 11.42's, and dialed in 20 clicks of down. The next four shots were bullseyes.
Its really crazy, when you have good quality equipment.

I finally got my scope sorted for the HW 35. Went with the 30mm high rings and the long adapter. I tried the two smaller adapters with the medium 1 inch rings but they were a no go, lasted less then 10 shots and were going backwards fast, no stop pin. And with the little bump that the Athlon scopes have on the underside, the medium height 1 inch rings wouldn't fit with the long adapter.. Anyways, I did a lot of switching stuff around. Unfortunately, trial and error seems to be my fate. Learned a bit about Burris rings, too. Cheers!
