What springer did you shoot today?

Not a good rifle day. Good pistol day though ... for me.

I was thinking about making a more quiet easy relocatable pellet trap. One that doesn’t resonate (I think that’s the correct word) or make a thud. So I about a small plastic flower pot packed with old towel. The wooden box I currently use seems to push the sound back in my direction and is to me quite loud.
Out came the trusty Hw50S shooting the 12.65 green pellets at 25 metres. As can be seen in the photos this setup is very accurate and it looks like out of the three shots two of them went through the same hole.
Happy Christmas from Oz.

Thanks Crow, funny thing is that I’ve only seen snow on tv or at the movies. Love the heat.
Gary
I’ll send you some. 2 1/2 feet in last 4 days. Most I’ve ever seen. Crow
TX200 MKIII and Beeman P17 again today. I was shooting at 50 feet. TX200 off a bag and P17 2-hand off-hand.

Consistent shooting. I’d like to find time to shoot the pistols. I have my eye on a HW45 .20. If it’s still there Feb 1 my name’s going on it. Happy New Year Crow

I had my HW 97 and AA 20otx out today shooting offhand only at a Crosman dueling tree, the one with six plates of different sizes, very small to large, top to bottom. I was shooting ten meters and those guns are heavy for offhand, Also had my AV 46m pistol out for a while, shooting soda cans at same distance, It simply does not have enough power to swing the plates on the tree, and I simply cannot see the smaller ones even at that distance any longer. About 20 shots with each rifle, different sessions, with a rest period in between tired me out.

Got to shoot my Beeman R9 .22 that I just got for a Christmas gift for myself. Hoping to keep it as an iron sights only plinker and my only springer pellet gun in the house. Several pcp's already. Looks like it likes Daisy HP max that I loaded up on when they had a 4th of July sale. Wish the comb on the buttstock was shorter as it is hard to get low enough behind the sights. Have a Williams diopter sight to instal as well. Only shot at 11 yards in the basement range.

Can’t beat a 97 with a club. Awesome rifle. I have those targets and find the springs weak, winter repair job. I don’t know about your pistol but in Canada if they shoot over 500 fps they become Restricted Weapons. Crow
I removed a starling with my HW50 on Monday. The HW50 sweated so bad I had to give it a complete wipe down. I don't like having to do that. Hope I didn't miss anything. I'll know next time to let it acclimate more gradually. I knew that but it slipped my mind.
I don’t think there’s a problem with the temperature change. I do it everyday. Just keep the steel impregnated with oil. I used to worry about the scopes, but never an issue. Crow

Nice choice for a springer. Merry Christmas. Enjoy your rifle. Crow
I shot a Benjamin Prowler gas rammer in .22.

Changed out the ram and piston seal for a friend, so I had to shoot it right?

Great part was, I had fun sorting out the rifle, and shooting it later was pretty relaxing. It sure ain't no Steyr, but rabbits at springer distances are on borrowed time.
Sweet rifle. Can’t say I ever shot a rabbit. Tree Rat different story. Enjoy Crow

Took out these four ladies out all named Diana. 323A24D4-3856-473E-B088-43009E283D12.jpeg 54 pro .22, 460 .177, K98 Mauser .22 and a 24 .177 Canadian Version under 495 fps. Had 3 of these lemons before I got into the Weihrauch’s.
If you hit a squirrel 20 times you might knock it out of the tree so you can beat it to death with a shovel.
The 460’s accuracy at 60 yds. was amazing. As well the 54 delivered strong shots at 45 yds. with accuracy.7B439D58-06B0-49B5-8858-03EE8662E88F.jpeg 45 yd. 8 shots quarter size .
At nite I set up the lites. This is the range at nite, it was perfect. B2AA6EEB-7FB2-41FB-BAFF-511E773DF8AA.jpeg Again the 460 was lethal for 20 rounds then the cocking arm started grinding, done, another job. Crow

Crow, the AV 46m is spec't at 480fps, so should be no problem there. The way all the linkage unfolds when cocking looks weird, but it makes for very easy cocking. It's a single stroke pneumatic so no recoil and you can open and close the breech for dry firing without charging the air chamber.,
I just looked it up. I’ll have to see if they are available here. Similar to my FWB 65. I hope to spend some time on the pistols but the rifles have my attention now. Thanks Crow

Another TX200 day ... 50 feet with Centerpoint 6 to 20. AA Field Heavy 10.3 gr (lubed with wax weighted at 10.4)

warmer today snow melting , but that makes mud . but speaking of shooting any advice on a springer or SSP pistol of a model that was actually used in the Olympics ?
We only got 4 inches last nite, bit of a relief.
Can’t help you on the advice, someone will know. Crow
