What springer did you shoot today?

Redid my indoor pellet trap.this on is only 6" deep. works well, rubber sheet on bottom for pellets. Tempered sheet metal I had on han.Use earth magnets to hold paper, just pull on paper and magnets stay till you put on new target, holds two targets. Need to do a setup to shoot out of house.Have shooting window in shop but then need to put heater in it ! I'm wimping out! LOL !

Do the super domes fit really tight in your barrel?
I tried several different pellets, JSB 7.33, AA falcon 7.33, AA 7.87, JSB 8,44, AA 8.44, RWS super dome 8.3, H&N 8 8.44, H&N baracuda FT 9.57, QYS 8.48, but it ended up grouping the best at 40 yards with the AA 7.87's.
Most people say the 7.33's group the best out of their HW30's, but you have to prove that yourself through testing.
To add another data point...the JSB 7.33 and the AA Falcon 7.33 are the winners in my .177 HW30 by a significant margin.

With three TX200s and that many different air rifle shooting opportunities, I thought I would change one to a 12fpe rifle for short range silly wet, offhand. We are restricted tom12fpe at pistol distances to protect the targets. Yesterday, motorhead gave me two used 12fpe VORTEK kits. The first one was only able to shoot at 10.5fpe. This morning I changed them and the second was right on the money or a SKOSH bit more…so now I have one at 12fpe, 14fpe and one at 16.5 fpe.

One of my favorite springers is my .177 HW95. Liked it so much a got it a custom CS stock. Decided to retest some pellets since I have a larger selection now, a year ago JTS and AEA were not on my radar. The results are in! the favorite JSB 10.3 and 13.4 are no longer the winners...AEA 10.3 is the clear winner with the JTS 10.4 and the AA 10.3 tied for second. I have high end PCP's that would be proud to have a SD of 1.8..

Yep, most people say these are the best in their HW30's. And they shoot good in mine as well, but the AA blue tin 7.87's beat them at 40 yards
in mine.

Now which power level will group the best?

Sweet rifle and chrony numbers. I need to try some of those on the next pellet order. I am waiting on a HW98 to show up, guy says it won't shoot good. So I took a chance, hopefully I can straighten it out.

And I have a walnut stocked HW95 in .20 on the way. In stock at AoA. My favorite caliber was impossible to resist...

some more bird feeder duty , HW97 .177 11.6 FPE . three more squirrel . one fed a bobcat , one fed a feral cat and the third just disappeared while i was getting a second cup of coffee . i'm going to start shooting the 30 yard challenge again using this 97 , practiced doing that till it got cold . now it started to warm up .

Got a concern. I have 3 guns I bought at AoA before Christmas. A 30, 95 and a 97. We had a postal strike which held up the delivery. They shipped it over a week ago. Still not here. If still at border could cost me another $800. if this 25% Tarif affects it.
‘To make matters worse I have a deposit on 2 more at AoA.
And I was also going to order 10 springs sets from Vortek, as well ARC springs, that’s not going to happen. Looks like TbT is in my sights sooner than planned, they were before but I wanted a few more Vortek’s and ARC’s first which is not going to happen now. What a drag! Hopefully things will iron out. I like the idea of magnets holding targets. Thanks for the idea. Crow

I hear you. I voted for the current incumbent and am beginning to have doubts. At least we will only have to put up with him for four more years. These tariffs will only hurt everyone.

Reactions: Bandito
continuing the bird feeder saga . today i did not get the feeder out till 8 AM and the birds were waiting in the branches . 4 male Cardinals and many sparrow size birds .
i have to bring the feeder in at night or the coons empty it . Wife will not let my harvest squirrel "not in my freezer" but feeding the local fox and bobcats is fine by me .
Stan in Ky .
P.S. going out now HW97

I use the old style paper clamps with an excessively heavy spring. That style will cut through the targets if you are careless. But I have seen some available with a magnet on them, a la refrigerator Note clips. If your trap is steel this might be the Goldilocks of target clamps. AND have I ever mentioned DEATH TO SQUIRRELS? Be Well Brothers, Bandito.

Its a nice rifle!
I shot two rounds of Crazy Eights in the wind and one round on the Marksman target at 75y after the wind laid down with mine yesterday.
