What springer did you shoot today?

Everything arrived for my maiden rifle scoping. HW35 TO4C Bugbuster

Took a few shots to find paper but I managed to click my way near the middle.

I appreciate everyone for sharing their “how to” tips and encouragement.

Always nice to play with A new gun. Have two FWB 124's ready to rebuild today. One will be with the milder spring for easy cocking and for the Grand Kids coming in July. We had over 30" all told on snow last couple days, glad its plowed and done. One broken cross link on chains to fix. No snow man for me!

I’ve already tried. Close but no cigar. When I do get it back together I’m going to weld it shut so no one has to go through this. Talk about slow down production.
This one could end up in the lake. Crow
A better way to skin that cat.
Put the trigger block in your vise with soft jaws. Now thread the compression tube onto the block. You don’t need a compressor for an HW50 spring.
If you can’t get it on this way……Well, that’s the way I do it.
It’s also the best way to do a BSA Airsporter or Mercury. There’s no good way to mount the back block in a compressor. Most any gun under 12 foot pounds is manageable this way.
I hope you are using the correct HW 50 spring. The spring for the current HW 50/99 is not the right one.
BSA Mercury back block threads on. I have an HW50 spring in it.

Karl, I think you might be on to something. Thank you. I believe I used a used spring from a new Weihrauch.
‘I’m with you on the install by hand. I put trigger block on floor and stand over using body weight. Need non slip. I like the idea of putting it in soft jaws to hold still. Going to adopt this idea.
I do most springs by hand. Even did a HW80+, not recommended. That was first and last time.
‘Really appreciate your input. Crow

Never rebuilt a FWB.I have 6 inches to clean today. And I blew a winch on plow. It sure is white here. Crow

JM probably has a drop in spring as well.

I set up early this morning to get an advantage on the wind. The flag inched out to the left after the first shot, which was a clean miss! 😠
I had some, but little success on the Crazy Eights again like yesterday. Also like yesterday I was chasing zero trying to figure this miss syndrome out. I would hit a dead bullseye, immediately followed by a hit in the dirt down low. Fed up I put my shoes on and took a target out there. It would have been a nice group if I'd been at 1000 yards.
So, Back to the JSB 13.73s.

Now I had a really good shoot, with plenty misses, but when I hold 4" into the wind and I should have held 7" I'm happy.
All in all I've been out here five hours, and "post" H&N, to JSB change, four rounds of Crazy Eights, the 1 1/4" spinner, three shot shells, one CO2 cartridge, and two side by side centered bulls on the paper target. 👍

We'll be able to have a better look if we ever have a good long, low wind day to work with.
Today it seems the 95 does not like FT&Ts

Yes the wind can play tricks on ya. Most wind problems are from shifting directions when you think you got it figured. 75 yards makes it even that much worse, I struggle at 40 yards some times with a wind flag set out at 20 yards..lol.
If the wind is steady from one direction you can usually hold off and they fly to the same spot, any shift in direction and that goes out the window.🤔
For me, fighting the wind makes it less enjoyable,
but I still do it.😬

I was thinking of putting small wind flags near the ground in my perifial vision while aiming. I got some real good clues when leaves got airborne and flew past my targets this morning.
It really increases the challenge.
With the pellet trap being black you can see the grey pellet turn with the wind and see if your holdover was + or - or "Bullseye" 👁

The flags today variable changing directions, and sometimes one full left and the other full right. I give 3/4 dominance to the 30 yard flag, for hold over guesswork.
The wind tried to take down the paper target leaving it crooked but still standing. The hanging med bottles is about four feet left of its relaxed position. 👍
