What springer did you shoot today?

Weather 28F no wind, easy. Started with my first 97, .22 cal. I was joined at the hip to this gun at one time.

Another not much different a HW97 Blackline .22. I smacked a lot of Rocky’s with this one.
IMG_1091.jpeg

When shooting I was shooting JSB 15.89’s. I emptied the tin and open an existing tin of Hades. Thinking might be small difference, not a chance. Seams to tear the cans a little more.
Next up a HW77 .22. Right off the bat, jacking is noticeablely easier. None of today’s guns were ever opened. Shoots like the out 2, with a buzz.

And last another 77 .22 cal.

I was actually going to sell 77 and 97? But I shoot them. I would like to mix up the springs and compare more accurately.
What happens if you put a 12 FPE spring in a .22 cal.?

On the wall the 30s 50s and the very special Beeman R10 all 177

The two laminated stocked rifles, my only 22's, the 54D and 77k S.E. along with 77k in 177.

Walnut halls paper a chicken silhouette and a gallon jug 110 yards out in the field are all I got to shoot at, to icy to chase targets!

Don't want to do like my wife did Thurday morning when she took the dog out at 7am, kinda ruined here day, but after she waited till 12 hours later to go to the doctor, she found out she was just bruised, I don't know how, but need to find out how I would fair either! I'll stay on the deck and keep polishing the bores of my rifles with pellets.
Wow that could've been very bad indeed.
Looks like you have all the springer bases loaded,
which one is the best at 110 yards?

It still shoots ! ( sorry just could not help posting this answer )

so far today i shot the HW97 .177 , This is tuned to shoot H&N 8.64 domed pellets 11.6 FPE , Good out to 30 yards or more @ 1/4 inch dot . using today it is a squirrel gun , all i need to see is the top half of the head DOI.
( two down to feed the fox or bobcat )

Two best groups out of five shot today at 40 yards with the HW30 and Falcon 7.33's, not the best pellet, but I ran out of the AA blue tin 7.87's.
5-shot groups at the 1/4" dot.

Just switched back to the Hawke Vantage, for some reason I can do better with this vs. the Hawke Airmax..lol, make it make sense.

Sorry for her accident. It hurt me
to watch.

Enjoying a focused reticle 😁
Factory HW35 .177 @45 ft
4.5X and learning to aim small and find my no wobble, ventricles at rest moments.
Parallax wheel could be tighter but the turret cap doesn’t seem to be removable.

Shooting around in circles….

Diana Models 70… cute little gun…only about 32 inches in total length… picked up recently at auction. Took the target sights off and installed a RDS. Will shoot hobby pellets into the 8 ring of a 10m target…at 11.5 yrsds… vel avg 450ish with 7.9gr

Anyone here with one? Would love to exchange info on service and maintenance… think it was made in 1989… got “ 11 89” stamped on the receiver towards the rear.

Received my new HW95N in the .20 caliber from AoA. Scoped it with an Athlon Neos 6-18 X 44. Had not tried that one yet, and a good deal at $190 from Pyramid. Very nice glass and a simple reticle. Ran a few patches through the barrel and put it to work. I had no problem zeroing at 25 yds, no droop. Remarkably smooth out of the box. Around 15 fpe. I think one of the reasons I like the .20 is that I tried every possible pellet, in about 30 minutes. All 4 :). This one seems to like the JSB 13.7 and the H7N 13.6. The others weren't bad either. Cheers!

Seems my HW35 likes Cudas.
The BugBuster seems to be working well but I can’t see the reticle at cross. It’s just too thin and blurry. It was brutal trying to place them on the bull.
After the first two shots, the two highest, I had to do something different. The next eight I had to line up the outer, thicker part of the mildot reticles with the corresponding target lines @ 3,6,9 and 12.
Is there a better way I’m unaware of?
Should I use colored dots on white paper?
White dots in the bull of by black targets? (thought about this after I cleaned up)
I really want to like this scope. Any advice?

zoom in
I use these color coding labels (avery) the yellows show up best with a black reticle.
