What springer did you shoot today?

You all are just too generous offering your knowledge and precipitation.
Someone shared recently I should aim for the intersections. (y)

Great fun.

Can’t see any shooting happening, we’re still getting buried. Got an hour of shoveling off the porch.View attachment 539329I’m going to have to shovel out my hanging targets soon. View attachment 539331Not going to stop till tonite. Reminds me of the weather we used to get. Going to spend time in gun room. Crow
Groundhog knows..lol.

Monthly field target match at Bay Point (Concord), CA.
I shot today with the senior division world field target federation champion, Sun Lu.
He shot WFTF with his highly modified TX200.
Me, I shot with TX200 #2, 16.5 fpe with the beech stock, off the bucket and sticks.
I don’t use drop data, I just aim, focus and shoot.
39/62…63%
Not too bad for a partially handicapped, soon to be 80 (hopefully, but that story has yet to be told) year old curmudgeon.

That's excellent shooting, I don't think I've shot better than a 39 using a front focus with dope on my 97K..lol. And you got 20 years on me. Where I've shot a few matches here in NC it's primarily set up for PCP so it's usually not a easy course.

While, I don’t hunt as much as I used to, when I do I don’t use drop data so why use it for hunter class FT?
I know the trajectory of my ammunition and make appropriate accommodations.
I do not need trophies or accolades.
FT is just a reason to leave the house.
I shoot pocket billiards at the senior center five days a week for the same reason.
Spring will bring chores around the yard.
Stays safe.

I down sized from my last house. But this doesn’t help. Gun boxes PITA
IMG_1132.jpeg

Yesterday not able to shoot I cleaned up this pile of gun boxes which were all over. I was tossing the boxes early on.
‘Wife asked if I was done shopping. I told her when the boxes reach the ceiling. She laughed at me and shook her head. Have room for approx. 16 more.
Last night, just started blowing snow and a plastic jug got caught in the impeller. Fought outside 15F, 10 pm. trying to pry it out, not a chance. After my morning coffee I’m going to torch the plastic and pry it out and clear the range and get back shooting. Crow

Weather 28F no wind, easy. Started with my first 97, .22 cal. I was joined at the hip to this gun at one time. View attachment 537530Another not much different a HW97 Blackline .22. I smacked a lot of Rocky’s with this one. View attachment 537531
When shooting I was shooting JSB 15.89’s. I emptied the tin and open an existing tin of Hades. Thinking might be small difference, not a chance. Seams to tear the cans a little more.
Next up a HW77 .22. Right off the bat, jacking is noticeablely easier. None of today’s guns were ever opened. Shoots like the out 2, with a buzz. View attachment 537533And last another 77 .22 cal. View attachment 537535I was actually going to sell 77 and 97? But I shoot them. I would like to mix up the springs and compare more accurately.
What happens if you put a 12 FPE spring in a .22 cal.?

Maybe (and thats a big maybe ) if i had goose down long under ware and goose down Carhart's plus a heater i could shoot in 20 F , Possibly stay out almost 25 minutes .

No point in keeping those boxes unless you're sending them back. Maybe keep a couple just in case for any work needed done. I trash all the boxes except the scope ones.

😂🤣 Sounds the way my wife dresses in the house.
No wind is key,
and I’m heavily protected. Still a chore staying warm. Usually go 1-1 1/2 hour runs. I shoot way more in winter vs. summer. This summer should be different with project finished. Going to spend some time fixing range. Crow

You might of saved my marriage. And I’ll never reach the ceiling.
I never saved amp or receiver or speaker boxes. Why start now. Planet earth to major Tom. Thanks for wake up call. Crow
forgot to send earlier

Free up a lot of space. Those beeman boxes with the foam inside are probably the best.

I am going to save 2 and toss the rest. "But Boss, These are the famous double padded AOA boxes!" Right. That won't hold water in this establishment, meaning SWMBO's opinion is the one that matters. Only the former contents of said boxes could be in contention. But folks, some smashed pellets will be tomorrow's results. TINK! Be Well Brothers, Bandito.

Stan, you just don’t know how much fun you’re missing out on.
