What springer did you shoot today?

I know the feeling. I bought a 30, 95 and a 97 before Christmas. AOA shipped few weeks ago because of our strike. But tied up in LA.
Hope you get your 98 soon. You’re going to love that one. What cal. did you get? Crow
.177
Bought one from a member here, and it's hung up or lost somewhere in shipment.

Nothing yesterday, cold and windy, high about 27, 14 this morning predicted high right around freezing. Too cold and humid for this southern boy to get out, It's supposed to be mid 70's next week so hoping.

I should get a FWB 602 back next week from being resealed, so may have a good time.

It was -.4F here in Arkansas this morning. 21F high predicted. It's not supposed to be over freezing until Saturday. To think I moved south for nicer winters. 🤣😅

Three years ago we hit -6F here in my part of E Texas, about 30 miles south of Tyler, stayed below freezing close to ten days. lots of snow and ice. Two weeks prior to that we had a snow , with wet heavy snow. My neighbor across the street has his power service line go down through some live oak trees. Some of the limbs came down and tore the line loose from his house and the transformer that served both his and my house. We were the only two houses in the neighborhood without power. I think I ran my big portable generator close to ten hours that day. Next time we had no power outages, but I had my generator out, hooked up and ready to go and did not need it. I was still glad it was out as I would not have liked to move it about 60 feet of a snow covered lawn with about 8 inches of snow.

I never imagined snow in Texas and 10 days. I remember last year in Texas.
I put in a 14 kw generator that kicks in automatically and I buried all wires, so trees can’t shut us down. Worth its weight in gold. Crow

I learned a lesson today. I had to make a quick run to town to pick up a few things for my wife. Went in grocery store and grabbed one of the small all metal carts. I had left my gloves at home and it was like pushing an icicle around for a few minutes until it started warming up inside. I think temp had gotten up to about 25 and the carts were parked in shade, so cold.

Still around 15F, no wind. In town today, meant to buy a scope today. But completely forgot to get one while there.
Started with a favorite a HW90 .20. This gun most amazes me. Have all 4 cal. Still haven’t shot the.177 or .22 , will this summer. I think this gun has my best record.

Great gun to play around with. So easy to change power.
Last of the .20 cal. a HW95. Their all special to me.

Awesome day. Can’t beat the .20 cal. with a club. Crow

I cannot imagine getting out and shooting in that cold. I would end up with those quilts wrapped around me.

I can say a friend and I back in my college days was out at the parish range where we grew up, temperature in mid 20's and light sleet, but then at that point we were 19-20 years old.

Big difference at 19-20 bullet proof at that age.

You are in the 20 cal club. I can't imagine getting up and not going to work..lol. Shooting would be a bonus. I spend my mornings setting up swiss machines. 😂

The hardest part is loading. Left index and thumb are exposed. I can last an hour - 1 1/2. Warm up inside. Layering makes all the difference. You can’t beat snow for a backdrop or for sighting. Can’t have a wind and I’m protected, big time. You’re welcome up. Crow

Crow -- Friendly suggestion.

This may get them moving on it. Otherwise, it may never move.

There's no guarantee it will help. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. But if it's been sitting somewhere that long, it probably needs a little push.

I understand about the wind. Back in 1991 I was posted to a contingency hospital in the UK for Desert Storm. It was bitter cold one day and started snowing, so they decided to send us back to the area where we were housed, about 30 miles from the actual hospital, an old RAF training base. Everything, was set up in a couple of large hangers, surgery, med surgical ward and orthepedic wards, my pharmacy was in the old armory building because it was the only one with a vault inside and bars on the windows.
We went out to the normal area to wait for the busses, a field tent about 60 feet long, and open at both ends. Snow was blowing in one end and out the other. I had a friend , a bit older than me and I was one of the older ones at about 46 years old. He was rapidly developing hypothermia and shaking bad. They finally told everyone to go to the dining hall which also had a large upstairs and was heated. That wind was brutal. Snow was coming down and swirling so bad in one area on the way back the busses had to stop because the drivers could not see the road just in front of the bus. I think that was what they called a whiteout, brilliant white everywhere and nothing to see, scary for an old southern boy.
