What springer did you shoot today?

I can see where that white background would be good for shooting. Now with bright sun , some of my orang painted swingers are hard to see against a green background. I have tried yellow and white, not as good. We get at times a lot of early fog here in E Texas, but chances are diminishing now

I did get my new HW30N out this morning to zero the factory irons, I think I am going to leave this one that way so I can shoot it the way my father tought me to shoot back in the late 40's. early 50's. It is certainly not as accurate as a scope or good aperature sight, but still a lot of fun plinking at tin cans or swingers, especially quick shooting from a standing position.

A while ago I ran across this thread https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/hw98-muzzle-brake.1300481/

I bought 2 Delrin muzzle brakes from SpiralGroove and wanted to report back that these are great! Got one for the HW98 and HW95. Haven't fitted the 95 yet but the 98 fit great. Very nice machining, works perfectly as a grip and for visual enhancement.

Just for fun I tried the muzzle brake without the barrel extension:

It's a bear to cock, have to use my belly as a pivot point! Kind of like it though. Going to get the scope back on to see how the balance feels.

Highly recommended. Thanks @SpiralGroove, I'll be back for more.

Glad you like them (y)

It’s like having a white paper background. I’m going to miss it soon. You see where everything goes, misses and rebounds. Really sweet lighting up at night being white. I blasted a lot of snow target. Best right now everything is slush.
I mainly use white paint for targets. Cans I paint yellow or Barbie pink.
This summer I’m hoping to set up a few rifles with iron sights. Crow

I was having a good time with that little HW30 with basic iron sights. Just pick it up, point and shoot. Having grown up shooting that way it is just still instinctive for me at almost 80 years old. I will pick up a can of flat white spray paint and see how that works out, I think it will work out better against my normal green of spring through late autumn background and probably against the more tan of winter.

Put in over 4 hours on the range. Pouring rain.
Shot the HW95 .20. Magic gun

Then I realized with this melt I won’t be able to access the top spinners, due to mud. So I painted them and replaced all downed cans. I’m hoping to redo my range this summer.

I see some gamo squirrel's held hostage up there, they trying to get back to their field target set up.

14 suck..lol.

I got my new 98 #1 back together yesterday. Today I remounted the scope and tried some groups at 10 and 20 yards because the wind is blowing 40mph, be glad when it dies out, but that probably won't be until May.
Anyway, I did make new guides for the factory spring and I made a o-ring piston seal, I decided not to button the piston at this time. at the moment it only gained around 10 to 11 fps faster than before, I'll see if it speeds up or slows down when it's broken in.

O-ring with krytox on it...

I also made a bronze stop pin hole bushing, because it had already started deforming from the initial shots when I had the stop pin in the hole. You can see the metal pushed up behind the bushing on the second hole.

Also here's a short video clip of it firing now, I'm in the garage so the noise is amplified.
I don't hear any spring noise now. ✌🏻I'm still waiting on my Rowan set back trigger blade to show up, so I can go through the trigger.

Exactly why you need two! 😁

With that range set up you are a lot more dedicated than me. Wish I had the space for something like that. I could but then the neighbors house would be a backstop.
