Took part of my lunch break to bang out a 5 shot stander with the HW77. Started from cold bore. Pretty happy with how it turned out. Wind was about 10mph coming from 8 o’clock. I broke #5 a little low. Oh well.

Nice shot. I can’t wait to shoot flies and wasps soon. Pay back. CrowFinally got downstairs after a few weeks of OT and life. The yard is still too snowy/muddy to get outside.

Zoom in on this…
A much needed break from everything else.

Nice grain on that 30. I have been working on the stock on mine for the last few weeks since I got it. It's walnut, but came in looking like no finish and colors were med gray to almost black. I started with some walnut oil and it immediately soaked all I put on in a matter of minutes. I would let dry a couple of days and repeat. certain areas were like a sponge. I finally switched to boiled linseed oil and it seemed to soak in a bit slower. Yesterday I gave it an application and put it out in the sun and it was finally drying, so gave it the old hand rubbing and it seemed to fill and seal those spongy areas. Last night it was looking good, not shiney but a nice satin glow and today I can see were some areas are looking more dull like the finish is soaking in. I just set it outside so the warmer day can cure and then will give some more very thin hand rubbed coats over the next week or so, probably at weekly intervals.Gave theHW85 .177 a run. Stan you would like one of these. So easy. I’m going to put a 12 FPE in this one. View attachment 554483Next up a gun I ordered last June. A HW77 .20 and it’s sweet. 3 others I ordered with it, still missing. I was hoping they would show up be reality is setting in. View attachment 554484Within first 50 rounds. This is 10 shots 35 yds. View attachment 554485Last of the arrivals a HW30 .177. I had a .20 on order but wanted them over the border before the tariffs so I went with a .177. Ha ha. It’s an old replica bottle of Balisgal. spell correct. CrowCrow, that bottle on the bench probably is wood finish but reminds me of a bottle of "Who Hit John"! Just got a grin and had to share it. I suppose I will have to explain it ... WHJ is a euphamism for Booze, White lightning, Moonshine, or just 'Shine. Might be able to find some Ozark s'hine in NW Misery. But if you drink it you might be somewhere else besides Misery. Or at least not feel it. There used to be a guy at work that talked about it. Be Well Brothers (and sober), Bandito.
Nice patina. I like that. And prefer satin myself. Gloss does look good in places, don’t think I ever owned a can.Nice grain on that 30.
