What springer did you shoot today?

Shot these today, finally got above freezing. Front to back. R7 .177, HW 95K .22 in a HW 98 stock, HW 98 .20 in a CS700 stock. All three shot amazing, all have a spring kit installed.View attachment 331761View attachment 331762View attachment 331763View attachment 331764
Seeing that we’re talking all. I’ll take them all. Very nice selection. The 98 .20 is my dream rifle, had one on order almost 2 yrs. N/A in Canada.
Like the muzzle end on your 95. Enjoy Crow

Spent 4 1/2 hours of my shooting time, drilling, grinding, assembly and painting. All together I got 34 plates. It’ll be worth it.
Here’s another use for an arbour.

The reason I used fluorescent paint was because it had it. It would cover nothing, but worked good on primer. Last year went through 16 cans of spray paint. This year already 8.
All plates are 1/4 inch. The largest approx. 2ft. X 2 ft.

First pic you can open water. First time in over 30 years I wouldn’t go on ice. Check out a guy is 10-15 ft. from edge. Can’t imagine a fish that good. Pan fish only!. You have to open it.

I cannot imagine shooting in conditions like that. I did get my AA ProSport out for a little while this afternoon. I have a Hawke Sidewinder scope mounted in Sportsmatch adjustable mounts. and for some reason all of a sudden it was shooting about 3 inches low at 10 meters. Crancked in some adjustment with the turrets and was quickly knocking acorns off my stand, and hitting a little swinger out to 30 yards. That square aluminum cocking lever wears on the hand rather quickly, so I discovered a thin leather driving glove is just the ticket for a more extended session. I probably got in about 30 shots before my cocking arm started getting tired so I quit. Temp was about 60 in the shade, so very comfortable, if I had something that did not require a lot of effort to cock, like a PCP I could probably stay out there for hours.

Yesterday was a bit warm, it got to 98.6 degrees so no shooting but today it’s a cool 93.2 degrees lol so out came my whole collection. (Not as big as crows mind you😁)

First I shot my Hw77 stainless, the first 5 shots went where it was pointed but then the next group was about half an inch lower so a couple of clicks and the next group was on the money.

Next was my Hw50, same thing occurred but to a lesser extent, bloody Hawke scopes.

Then it was my Lgv‘s turn, no worries here, two 5 shot groups went where they were supposed to.

Last out came my trusty hunter my Benjamin Titan. The other three all have Hawke scopes but the Titan has a UTG 4*32 scope. It’s supposed to be indestructible but has a thick rectical, no good for paper punching but acceptable for hunting. So the two groups achieved were expected.

All in all it was a good short session, thank goodness for air conditioning 🥶

Fixed barrel day. HW97K long barrel .177 and Diana 52 Luxus .177. These guns aren’t used to 35 degree weather. 97 was a hair low, easy holdover, left it alone and just tore up spinners etc. 52 was low and little left. Used a nail as a sighter. First 3 to test. Few clicks right, couple up. Fourth hit just below the nail. Couple more clicks up. Fifth shot, well that nail used to have white paint on it. 25 yards off my hand on a front rest, I’ll take it. Then just tore the heart out of all the targets with it too. Both of these are tremendous guns, blessed to have them.

Crow and you other folks in cold temps, what do y’all use for lube? Such wild temperature swings here. 35 this morning, low 60’s by afternoon. Tomorrow will be in the 70’s. Wondering about something with minimal temperature sensitivity.

As long as there’s no wind, it’s tollerabl. Better than not shooting at all. It’s hovering mid 30’w should 20-30 colder.
The Pro Sport is a dream to shoot. Ironically I wear a thin driving glove, more for the cold.
A HW30 is a must have if you don’t have one. It almost jacks itself. (that didn’t sound right) easy gun. Crow

Thanks. You can never have too many targets. I’m going to toss a few. In the spring I have to make a stand 8 ft. high and wide. Have no trees at 45 yds. to hang them.
I love fishing, never that much. Crow
Today the HW97K 177cal got the love. An panted an moved some targets around View attachment 331894View attachment 331895

Gary, I would sweat when I swim in that heat.
Nice Arsenal of guns. The LGV, I would crawl over broken glass on my hands and knees, for a mile, for one of those. Enjoy Crow

Sweet rifles.
I used to worry about condensation, but never had an issue. I just make sure I wipe them down when finished.
As far as lubricants I never really payed attention, probably use same as you use.
‘Nice shooting. 70 deg., I would be in a dream. Crow

Started off by cleaning the beat up. Worked on the range for 6 hrs. today.

Lot more to it than what I expected. This is I put several plate assemblies up. The berm is 12 ft. high, felt like Sir Edmond Hillary at the top. I think he was as loose as the ice fisherman.
Trickey still a foot of snow but temp. reached a balmy 40.

Looks like a little more time tomorrow. Can’t go up top too dangerous, I’ll get up there in spring. I had several more targets to go up but I have to make a rack for the 45 yd. area.
Before supper I grabbed my HW85 .22. I swear on my grandkids lives first shot 30 yds. Through a hole in plate, no net and was able to watch it. Awesome. Crow

[/QUOTE man that’s a nice range. That’s good shooting 😀 now about that snow. I wouldn’t mind if you kept it up there. It been a weird winter here in central IL 50 ‘s most of this week had a couple arctic blast, but for the most part warm winter. It still early. I’ve seen ice storms in April

Well, got to break in my revamped range with a few favorites. Deadly lineup.

HW30 .24, HW97 .20, HW98 .22 and Pro Sport .22. All trump cards. When shooting these you have to pinch yourself. Now again the 97 .20 was just stupid.

Man was this thing accurate. Put the spring, no piston seal yet. Bit WOW, starting to sound like a broken record. Here’s twenty shots, 30 yds. 5 at each hole x 4. Of 20 shots 8 went clean through. Holes 3/8 inch

Another 5 minutes, I’m going to ask you to stop talking that way.
I don’t look at them as a collection, their squirrel guns. Crow
Here in the great state of IL wind blowing 30 to 35 gust to 45 I brought out my favorite Hw90 22 ca shot the range . Well let’s be honest 🤣 shot at the range 25 to 55 yard . Shooting 16gr an 18.5 gr pellets . Hit more than I thought I would But had fun View attachment 332327
Sweet 90. Have you adjusted the pressure? And to what? Those guns are awesome. I got the gauge and pump last year with a .20 cal. Never shot. Have a .25, which was my first Weihrauch. Too hard to jack for me till I get time to play with it. Enjoy Crow

Dropped it to 19 bar , was around 21 when I purchase , I really enjoy it, no spring torque. An it doesn’t seem to be hold sensitive. It’s like shooting my favorite 22lr , well almost. I’ve done 2 to 3 hour shooting sessions with it . No rapped fire , because it does cock hard Quart of ice tea on a lazy Sunday afternoon Maybe 100 pellets down the tube. I’m planning. This summer to Hook the chronograph to my tablet and then play with the pressures. See what it does. 🤷‍♂️
