What springer did you shoot today?

Here's one that I love to hate

Walther Parrus in .177

This thing will sling 13.43 Monsters at 755, and 8.4 JSBs at 970. She is sharp and very snappy.......
This platform is definitely much better suited to .22 caliber as it appears to be wayyyyy over sprung, and the piston stroke is ridiculous.
I went inside, deburred and Ultimox was applied. The seals were good. The cocking stroke is smooth, if not a bit on the stout side, and the shot cycle is smooth but violent, if that makes sense.

I am actually not sure what to do with it. It is a Walther built rifle, and is not junk, but it's not a .177 platform.
Probably will pull it back down and try another seal, that hopefully comes to me a bit over sized. I can snug it up a bit, and button the piston to see if it calms down a bit. We will see.

Sounds like a challenge. Enjoy. Crow
Love the lines, slick stock. Crow.

Got an afternoon shoot in almost 4 hrs. shooting. 36 F. but sunny no wind. I was overdressed with the sun.
‘Took 4 - HW97’s one of each caliber. They all have a common denominator, they’re all deadly . .177 blue lam. first up. I also have a thumbhole .177, beech stock.

What a gun. It sounds like a toy ray gun with spring. Still this honey means business. Next is another blue lam. stainless. .20 cal. my last Weihrauch I bought. And you know what they say “best for last”. This gun fills the order. It too just received a Vortek spring. Better got best.

I’m hoping to get a few more guns in .20 cal. Just not available. I’m patient.
‘Easy to figure a .22 cal. Blackline stainless is next.

I’ve made some nice shots with this gun. Been hard on the tree rats. Also have a HW97.22 my first 97. Last out of the stable was the .25 cal. This is a favorite for spinners and it destroys cans like no other.

Handleing the .25 cal. ammo makes it easy to load. Of the 4 guns the .25 made the spinners spin the most. Crow

I'm running low on higher sizes of pellets so I broke out my Hatsan .177 Airtact, I think the shipping was more than the gun cost because they sell them so cheap. I'm hitting my red dots drawn on paper almost every time. Yeah, I'm a low class shooter but if it wasn't for being low class then I would have no class at all.

I’m good for a few. I stocked up before the big price increase. Crow

All a fluke. Crow

Took 4 out this morning HW35E HW98 and 2 Pro Sports. All were .22 except 1 Pro Sport was .177.View attachment 339040I started the day off with the 35 and started crushing the cans.View attachment 339041What a fantastic gun, living up to it’s reputation. Once scoped in, bingo.
Then came the 98 with new Vortek spring. This gun was an absolute favorite before the spring, now what a treat.
Next a PS .22 the ultimate gun, again with Vortek spring and piston seal. This gun went from excellent to over the top. I shot these three, finished off two tins. Then finished off with a .177 PS. No kit, doesn’t need one. One day though. All guns behaved nicley. Crow
Nice showing but that 35 just has me intrigued, 🤔

This tall, Plain Jane girl today. Diana Model 34 .177. Simple and humble, doesn’t even have a butt pad. And this is a T05 gun so no trigger adjustment to worry about even. One of the easiest coking guns I own. With the long barrel it’s not much more effort than a HW30, but has twice the power. Accurate as all hail with the peep on back, great gun with iron sights. Light weight and excellent balance, perfect for standing off hand like I did today. Dang shame this gun was discontinued. It’s a sad state of affairs when there’s no place for an inexpensive, well-made, easy cocking, 12-14 lb German springer.
