What springer did you shoot today?

well this evening was the HW95 field pro 177 an the new HW50s 177 I tell you the truth that HW50 puts smile on my face every time I pull the trigger . Unlike my HW95. that hw50 shooting right out of the box. It not all peaches and cream. The HW50 has a LOT of barrel droop . Had to shim scope 25 thousands . Ordered a droop compensator mount
All in all a fun evening. The field pro left HW50 right

The 50 is a great gun. Lite and easy to operate. The 50’s a must have. Crow

I got a 77 out briefly last nite. Staying light till almost 9 pm now, love it.
I’m getting attached to these 77’s.

This week is probably the least I’ve shot in a year. I’m transplanting trees 12-15 ft high. What a dog fight. By end of day I’m dragging my butt. Like taking a bottle of Sominex.
Going to redo the range after this job. Crow

Only springer I’ve shot in last 2 weeks. My youngest daughter and baby granddaughter were in from Cali week before last and it’s rained just about every day last 2 weeks. We played with CO2 pistols one evening and that was it. My daughter can still shoot. Got this on chrono about 30 minutes before next round of rain. Crazy. Still 20+ FPS spread even with new breech seal, shot before this was 409 FPS. Going to take it apart this weekend while watching it rain ha ha.

How do you like that crony? I notice there’s no wires to shoot through. Crow

I have that model chrony, Overall it is very good. It has a couple of metal rods that you can insert one the sides and they form a large"V" You can then install a plastic shade strip over each sensor, about 8-9 inches above the sensors. I rarely use that set up, usually having it in a somewhat shaded area. I did try on one day with a very heavy overcast and it simply did not work. I think they make a led light set up for that, but honestly I can just wait to a brighter day.

Very happy with it. Sunny days just pop the diffusers on. Takes 30 seconds and ready to go. Be careful using in shade. It it’s sold shade should be good. But dappled sun coming through trees, etc. can throw it off. Software works well. Easy to use, easy to export for comparison later. And of course you can set it up down range and take velocities at distance. Works great with our bows as well. The reason I bought this one is that I used CE chargers for years racing RC cars and their customer support was always excellent. From what I’ve read it still is. And made in USA.

I have been fooling around with pcp for the last while, my poor HW95 was feeling neglected. With the 22 barrel and 12fpe kit (makes 13+) it has a very pleasant shot cycle. That is winter 10m mode.

Maybe today or later this week I will switch back to 177 and a clipped full power spring for pesting.

It is really nice to shoot a bunch and not have hand pump the gun, cursing Vevor with every stroke.
My 95 likes a firm hold, which translates directly to my pb and pcp. I really love this gun.

I love my HW30 as much, but she is very different in the hold, must be gentle. Suppose to rain, maybe today I will renew the rivalry between the HW30 and 753 in 10m off hand peeping.

Transfer port drilled to .136 or 3.45mm with a #29 drill.
Bronze thrust washer added to factory tophat , TX200 spring, factory rear guide and thrust washer.
Averages 781 with H&N FTT pellets for 11.7 ft. lbs.

Did away with the bouncy factory shot cycle, while quieting and calming the rifle down.

The TX200 spring is not a super tight fit on the factory guides, more of a very close slip fit, but there is no twang and very little reverb in the spring post shot cycle. Just a slight resonance is discernible. Proper, tight fitting guides, would probably address that handily. I will most likely just apply a bit of JM tar to the guides and see if it hushes it up in the interim.

In my basement ten yard range I shot three shot groups with my 22 cal R1 after accidentally dry fired it with a 20 cal pellet.

Next line was 5 shot groups from my 177 HW97.
The last line was 5 shot groups from my 177 HW30. The 30 was looking great until that last group. Not sure what happened there.

Today, I figured I needed a workout, so I shot the 135 and 130QE .30. they are always fun to shoot. After about 50 shots. My arms had had enough. Next was a XS25SFB .22 ,so much easier to cock😁

Here are my first five off hand with the XS25 at my smallest cast iron pan.
