What springer did you shoot today?

So I have drank the Kool-aid and really wanted to shoot the gateway springer....HW30 (in .177). Krale is amazing..$249, $304 delivered (in 4 days!). Cleaned the barrel and put about 50 pellets through it in my indoor (garage) range. Finally, a nice day in South Florida, sighted in at 20 yards, amazing accuracy, even with the open sights and wind. I now understand the hype...diminutive, comfortable, smooth, and repeatable. I really want to keep the open sights, but just can't see the impact point. I'll have to scope it. But the accuracy deserves a scope! Cheers! Rick

Something said about open sights... springers to me look better plain. I use a spotting glass. Oh and peeps up the zeal.

Was breaking in my tx200 hc. After a barrel cleaning, seems I need to foul up the barrel to get the accuracy back. After 50 shots it’s getting tighter and tighter. Fall time is. Little chilly so having this cast iron chiminea helps keep me cozy.

Nice barrel shroud.

A night shoot and a still night. This is the best shooting.
My first Weihrauch I bought a HW90 .25. View attachment 505119I’m blown away with this gun. Set a 18 bar this gun destroys.
This is 10 shots at a cans 35 yds. View attachment 505120Using a Hades round. The .25 more than mangles.
Next rifle up a HW95 .177.
Pic won’t come up. A gem of a rifle. A pleasure to shoot.
Here’s a sweet shot I got off my deck tonite. The moon and Venus View attachment 505121Crow
Nice shot!
The moon is really dominant in the clear night skies right now. Really nice view over the lake.
👍

Does it twang? I would put the smallest, lightest weight scope I could find on it.

It actually has a pleasant "thunk". I guess that's what 6.3 fpe feels like :). I really like my Athlon Talos 10-16/40 that's on another springer. And I'm a sucker for magnification, it's only 1.2 lbs, not super light. I just ordered another one for the HW30...

Well took out my new to me Beeman RX2 in 20 this morning to see power level and try different pellets. It was only shooting about 10fpe so pumped it some and now right about 13fpe with the JSB 13.73(its preferred pill). Just shot it off the bench at 25yds and it's grouping good about a dime group for 10 shots. Brought it in cleaned the barrel since I shot both H&N and JSB. I find mixing the harder lead and softer lead accuracy can suffer somewhat. Very pleased with the gun.

Yesterday put about 50 down range with my HW 77k .20. Very accurate although it is not fully broken in. Strong "twang" but accurate and powerful. I may have to put in a better spring...Today took the TX200 .177 out for an evening session. Has a Vortek spring, shoots only 10ish fpe but has such a sweet shot cycle and I can't miss a 1 inch target from 30 to 45 yds. I don't even try anything closer :). Cheers! Rick

First time behind a trigger. Breaking in a new HW35e in .177 with a tin of CPHP 7.9gr.
Backyard bench and sandbag, using a Tech Sights peep and stock post front sight at 30 yards.

After raising the peep all the way and a little right.

Smooth cocking and trigger. I like the weight and balance. Not much recoil and a little clank. A very satisfying morning.
I’m glad I don’t need my reading glasses and could use a recommendation for clear shooting glasses that won’t give me a headache like the cheap pair I have.
I’ve so much to learn and enjoy learning new things that make me smile.
Thanks all for sharing your knowledge.

2 favorites tonite. A HW98 .20. How can you go wrong? I dare a tree rat to come around. Can’t wait to give it a new spring. Accuracy is first nature.

Next up HW97 lam. .20. It has the Vortek spring. Night and day. Smooth action.

Planted that maple 2 years ago, it only had 25 leaves then.
This 97 is special. So accurate. Crow
