What springer did you shoot today?

Today I put this spring set in my Pro Sport .177.

This rifle is a dream to work on. No burrs to remove, so clean.
I love how this set allows the spring to spin if needed when compressing.
This time I applied more grease on the spring.
I loved this gun before the switch.

Shoots like a dream. Love the sounds and accuracy.
Going to redo the 77 with more grease on spring hopefully tonite.
Do I have to degrease it again to add more grease to spring?
Really don’t like reattaching the 77-97 trigger block compared to a 50 or PS . Unfortunately I have approximately 18 rifles with this union. Crow

I got a resolution for my warranty claim today.

Element Helix warranty turn around “FOUR DAYS” y’all.
The scope broke last Saturday, I contacted Element Optics Monday shipped the old Helix Tuesday, and received a new unit today Saturday.
That’s pretty awesome service for a great product.
👍

It's not that bad really. I use a big open end wrench maybe 1.0" or a little smaller. I wrap thick duck tape around it till it fits the trigger slot tight, one tap with a dead blow and it's loose. I've had mine apart so many times it hardly takes anything to get it moving. New ones never apart, might need more hits with the dead blow to break loose. I line the dovetail grooves back up by feel with my finger nail. A few taps back and forth till no edges are felt on either side when sliding my nail across them.

That’s fast.
My Hawke warranty for Canada is a 35 min. drive away. One visit, for me, instant replacement plus a hat. Crow

That’s not the problem. It’s trying not to cross thread it putting back on.

The 50 is so mush easier. I don’t like using the press. I tried a few materials to grip the trigger block when twisting on.
I plained down a piece of Maple to fit in the trigger block to wack.

Mine are all tight. Crow
Today I shot an HW30s. Lots!

I shot it in .22 and .177, from 6 ft-lb up to 10 ft-lb.

I had kinda forgotten what lovely little rifles these are!
Great rifles. I like plinking with the .22. Crow

Yeah it can be tricky if the spring has a lot of preload. On the long spring like the JM Hornet, I had to build a compressor with a delrin cup to hold the end block and allow it to rotate once the spring was compressed to the point that the threads engaged. A lot of energy that can hurt you quickly. I don't use those long thick wire springs anymore. I use short, like 30 to 32 coils of .120 wire, and I'll space it up for more power if needed. I can easily remove and install these springs by hand, because they have very little preload.

I’m trying the different spring manufacturers. Stock sets.
Is 30 to 32 coils of .120 wire a custom order?Crow

No, just go to ARH headquarters and look at his spring kits and separate springs he offers. I always have him "set" the spring for easier install. It's like $3 extra bucks, but worth it to me.
For the 97K and 77 springs I would look at are...

These are the two I see right off hand, top one is a single spring, that you may or may not have a guide to fit it. You can always have a guide made for it. The bottom one is a kit that's adjustable for power using his supplied spacers. The kit has the guides already included.

There maybe other springs that will work you just have to look thru at the dimensions. He offers two different springs for the TX200 prosort, that would probably work in the 97K / 77 as well.

I've had good success with the .120 / .122 wire diameter range when spaced up. The thicker wire springs will be tougher to install like the Hornet spring.

Thanks for the suggestions. Feel like a blind man without a white cane. Always open for ideas.
$3. to set a spring is no problem. I’ve never set a spring. Does ARC have a phone number?
Trying different springs. Still have a ton to replace and learn. Bench is becoming a write off. Crow
