What springer did you shoot today?

Was able to finish up my pellet testing for the .177 HW50. The AEA 8.7 and AEA 10.3 were just as accurate as the JTS 8.7. But the JTS had a lower SD and slightly higher fpe. I think I won the barrel lottery on this one, the accuracy is so amazing, I was tempted to shoot a 30 yd card. I set up my 40 silhouettes at various distances and couldn't miss. I was even nailing 1 inch palm seeds at 50 meters...Cheers!

TX200#1
Bought in 2013 and, on the advice of the Motörhead, I have been shooting nothing but 8.64gr H&N FTT pellets.
As new it was shooting those at around 9000-915fps/16fpe.
After about 60,000 pellets the power started to drop off so I ordered a factory rebuild kit from PA.
I know. I know. I should have just ordered a spring but I didn’t check the parts availability far enough.
Over the years I have heard folks rave about 8.4 grain pellets but I had a bunch of 8.64s so I stuck with them although, with the new kit they are only shooting at around 849fps/13.5fpe???
Me thinks PA goosed up the TX when it was first new.
:o

I am finally down to my last 1000 8.64s so I ordered some AA 8.4, 4.52mm pellets and tested them today in TX200 #1.
I like the shot cycle very much but the AA 8.4 4.52mm pellet is an RCH smaller than the H&N 8.64 4.52mm pellet.
Maybe AA is using JSBs slightly used dies for their pellets.
I finished with 10 pellets offhand at my 10 yard indoor range:

This afternoon the wind was much better than yesterday, so I took the HW30 out to 40 yards with the AA 7.87's. Smallest group was 9/16" ctc.

Then I decided to try JEFFPPC, 22 yard target at 40 yards..lol. It was challenging and fun too. Only scored a 11.5 out of 30, maybe next time.

It's hard to put this little 30 down, when there's no wind it's dead on.

✌🏻⬆️

only thing i would add if it was mine would be to lower the FPE to around 10 FP , but that's just me .
It’s sitting at 11.4 right now. After I finished building this one it was setting right at 12fpe, just a touch over depending on pellet type. This weekend I I worked at slowing it down. Super smooth at 11.4.

But to your point, 10-11fpe range is ideal. I usually shoot for 11-11.4.

Temps rose to 36F. I got some serious shooting in so far today. After lunch I shot a HW85 .22. Very nice gun. So easy to jack. Had to look in book, installed a Vortek in Oct.

This next gun a Pro Sport .177. is just too good to be true. Looks and performance are infinite.

Really awesome weather. Got several hours in today. And shot this HW98 .177 next. Just slaughtered the cans today. This gun lacks nothing.

A cam that streams on your phone.
I see, you set it at your target. That's pretty cool,
I might need to get one of those.

Staring from the bottom: TX200 MKI, FWB 300, and the Anschutz got jealous so I put her in the pic at the top. I love and cherish these babies. The scopes are all Leupolds. The top two scopes modded by Premier Reticle.... top is 8-40X, middle is 30X with fixed parallax for 10 meters.

Nice!

Should get out shooting today. Been over 2 weeks since I took a shot.
Bought a FWB 127 .22 cal. last night. Crow
Awesome. I have never seen one of those. I have two of the 124d models, first one bought in very early 1975, a few months after my wife and I got back from a two year overseas tour with the USAF. The other I found, in great condition on ebay a few months ago. The don't have the smoothest firing cycle, but accuracy is and has always been fantastic.

36F and still snowing. Got out for morning shoot with a HW50 .20. That curtain in background is the difference between shooting and not shooting. It stops a light wind which is mercyless.

Another HW50 .177 plastic stock. This gun is one of the perfect hunters. Vortek equip. The 50’s are great guns.

No rear bag?
I rarely use a rear bag.
Temps. are tolerable. Another great day. Fresh snow cleans up the backdrop. Crow|
