Three years ago we hit -6F here in my part of E Texas, about 30 miles south of Tyler, stayed below freezing close to ten days. lots of snow and ice. Two weeks prior to that we had a snow , with wet heavy snow. My neighbor across the street has his power service line go down through some live oak trees. Some of the limbs came down and tore the line loose from his house and the transformer that served both his and my house. We were the only two houses in the neighborhood without power. I think I ran my big portable generator close to ten hours that day. Next time we had no power outages, but I had my generator out, hooked up and ready to go and did not need it. I was still glad it was out as I would not have liked to move it about 60 feet of a snow covered lawn with about 8 inches of snow.
I haven't shot since Monday when I was accuracy testing the R8. It's been too cold and windy to shoot since and will be until at least Saturday.
I have stuff to sort out and I need better weather. Sorry I needed to vent.
