For sale on the popular auction site beinf sold by a pawn shop soujds like. Doesnt look like any S400 carbine I've seen. Weirdly short. Is this modified or what?

The Carbine and Rifle use the same stocks. Interchangeable. No need to hack the end off, because the carbine tube ends right at the end of the stock.

From Chambers Gunspares:

The TDR had a 200mm long airtube.

The Carbine had a 300mm long airtube.

The Classic "rifle" had a 400mm airtube.

These pics are straight from the Air Arms website from 2006!

Notice how the airtube on the TDR is basically double the length of the breech to the back of the fill cap.

Now look at the Carbine, its clearly longer.

And take note that the Carbine, Classic, and Extra FAC rifles are in the same length stock (and neither has the ends chopped off)

Take a look and see for yourself, but I'm sticking with my original statement. It's an S400 action, on a TDR airtube, in a sawed off modern poplar Superlite stock.
