What type of o-ring for a breach seals? Buna, silicone, etc?

I need to order a few breach seal o-rings for a Taipan Veteran Compact .22. I found the size--5.28x1.78. Could someone tell me what type of material these need to be? I see Buna, silicone and more. I want to get my little Vet back up and running. Thanks.

Buna-N or polyurethane in 70 durometer in most cases.

Avoid silicone because it has very poor abrasion and tear resistance.

I was having ring clipping issues on my Mrod so I got half too smart and gave the 90 buna durometer, hard, orings a try. FAIL, couldnt assemble the gun because there is nearly zero give on those. Went back to 70 durometer and got it back working. Tip of the day find out the sizes and if you have a industrial gasket and o ring supplier in town you can get a handful of o rings dirt cheap.

Thanks for your reply. I did a fairly extensive deburring and installed everything with a light smear of silicone grease and 70d o rings before sending my CF fill station out for Hydo ten days ago and so far no leaks! Cast Poly is new to me? But there is a industrial o ring and gasket supply place in my old home town so I can stop in and grab a supply on the cheap when Im there.

you can get cast polyurethane orings at

They are more expensive than the other types but are superior.
