Airforce What weight hammer Talon Condor? Slug max Power

I.just got my new used Talon😀....I tore it apart and the hammer weight is 48grams...It has a 20 inch barrel.... . . I see heavy hammer weight s 100 gram. Is a 100 gram weight and spring right. Also is there a visual difference in talon and condor valves... Im hoping for 30 grain slugs at maybe a 1000 fps. The second part is plastic...... Should.I buy a brass one? Was setup for pellets and altros regulator....Have external regulator..

I love my Air Force guns. Is this a talon or a condor? That valve stem (top hat?) does not look like one of the current condor valves but it’s a little hard to tell because the photo isn’t very clear. that looks a little bit like one of the old talon ss valves I have.

The metal breech blocks tend to have pretty rough action so you may want to stick with the plastic (delrin).

Heavy hammer and spring mainly helps if you are using a higher pressure tank like a carbon fiber replacement and filling to 3600 psi+. You may get a little bit more with the set up you have. I’ve been told by the experts that if you hit those valves repeatedly with an overweight hammer and spring, there is a weak point inside the valve where it will buckle

Hope this helps. There are some real airforce gurus here, maybe one of them will chime in

Great advice thanks. I think it is a talon SS frame.....barrel a factory LW 24inch cut to 20 inch..I'm going to keep the stock pellet setup it has with Altros regulator and existing weight and hammer.. I already have a 0.5l..4500 psi M18-1 setting there. Thinking about another.high pressure valve and heavy spring and hammer to switch out. Hammer weights very from 65 grams to 100 grams..i.have a external regulator so 3600 psi no problem... For slugs the altros regulator setup too slow... Making a switch power setup.. Or trying too. Thank you
