Oh man I got one of those in the early 70's. Lost so many years ago. Very nice.my dad bought it for my bday from sears .had great power.

Crosman Model 140s were produced between 1954 and 1968. If I knew what kind of safety it has I can narrow the birth years down.

I was thinking that looks a lot like my 140. Be careful, once you finish you may have a strong desire to keep it.

If you're lucky, the breech plug will be stamped with a date code. The first digit is the month, the second and third are the year. For Oct, Nov, and Dec, I don't remember if there are two digits or the letters O, N, D.

Actually the breech plug stamp is the only real way to date Crosmans of the era, but the format is: first one or two digits are month, final digit is year;
