Man, that is a super cool setup Glem….
Thanks very much Luis

That is awesome, I'd never get anything done.
I've played video games for years now off and on, and have been able to keep it as a light hobby not something I sit and grind on for hours on end. But when I want to play I want nice visuals and immersion. Thank you!

Glad to see you respond and say you’ll pop in more often. The song welcome back from the vinny barbarino/Mr Kotter days was playing in my head, lol.

That is a bad @$$ set up right there! Nothing like a hobby like that to pull you away and get refreshed from Airguns.
Haha thanks Augie

How COOL is that!? How FUN Glem! That would definitely be hard to LEAVE...🤗. I recently received an aerial drone and have spent some time looking at my phones screen while flying, very fun, but I'm sure the view is not nearly as sweet as yours! Enjoy slinging those cars around the many tracks...hope you win too!
That sounds like fun Randal, yeah it really is fun. I mainly just grab a vintage car and pick a track and just run hot laps to see what times I can get. Once I get better i'll do more racing against people.

Sweet! Any interest in VR? I just got a ps vr2 and gt7 is awesome with a cheap wheel and pedal setup. It’d be bananas with your rig.
Some minor interest but I think i'm more into old school looking at a screen, but a friend at work has a VR system he wants to lend me for a weekend I think I'll take him up on it. Do not want to fall in love though! And yeah I've seen some videos on GT7 and heard the new VR Sony put out is straight bonkers. Do you get all sweaty when you play? My buddy says that lol, he's a pretty big dude though.

I see I am not alone collecting speedtickets 😀😃
Always keep couple demerits on my name.
II would need dis your setup probably couple decades ago to drain the adrenalin
I try to behave these days, but I do like a bit of hooning around. And yes the gas prices are zero and no cops like this :)
I’ve seen the same sickness before, albeit with flight simulators. Sweet setup!

I got a bit nicer stuff so I don't feel the need to "upgrade" right away.

Couple details about it, obviously made the base out of wood. Chose cedar to have a bit of a different look, made it very strong all inside corners have a 2x4 thats glued and screwed as a brace. All corners and everywhere plywood is on is glued and screwed. All the wood is sealed with water based polyurethane.

Ordered the extruded aluminum from Aliexpress, one piece ended up a bit dented at one end but was able to put that against the wood for the bigger upright luckily. And ordered all the hardware (all M8) and corner brackets etc from there also. Still waiting on a swivel with a locking lever that I'll mount the keyboard/mouse tray to. Seat is from a computer chair and is working out well although I think I'm going to put it on a riser that's adjustable for angle and get the back of the seat a bit further down and front higher.

Pedals are logitech pro pedals, spring loaded clutch and gas pedals and the brake has a 100kg load cell in it that you can adjust so it measures pressure not travel which feels very real.

The wheel base isn't belt driven or gear operated its "direct drive" so basically the shaft of a motor is what the wheel attaches to, It is so unbelievably smooth and it has some serious power when you get a wheel over a curb or crash, thumbs out! It's a workout for the chest and shoulders using a car with heavy handling or no power steering.

And the shifter can be sequential or manual just swap out plates on the top, its gated like a ferrari and really feels like you're popping it in and out of gear with the spring loaded feel. I like real manual, not so much paddles or sequential. Learning to heel toe, but left foot braking i'm abysmal haha.

This is kind of a famous F1 car from the mid 80s, 1.5 liter BMW engine, 75 Psi of boost and 1400hp when you have it cranked up. Oh and it's also H-pattern try and keep up with shifting haha. I have it at 100% turbo so the engine only last a bit more than a lap then she's done. Not amazing driving or anything just showing the car. I probably won't make many videos as recording in 32:9 isnt so nice (new monitor, these were recorded from 16:9 4k) and I don't think I can convert it well. (put the video in 4k)

What are the specs on the PC? I can tell it’s water cooled and probably powerful if you’re driving that G9 at native resolution.
It's a rig I update every 5-6 years, running an evga 3080ti hydro copper, 12900k upgraded last year but that loop is about 10 years old, thick 360 rad up top and 120 at the back in a Corsair 900d beast of a case gpu and cpu are watercooled. Nvme boot drive and lots of hard drives and ssds. It does very well at either 4k or native on the g9 and relatively quietly.

Very nice! I’m running a 3080 and 5800X3D in mine.

I just updated my computer. Got an i9-13900K, 32 GB of Ram and a 3080 with 10G on it. I’ve got the Thrustmaster Pedals, Throttle, Joystics, as well as a Logitech Steering Wheel and pedals combo. Mostly do Flight Simulator and F1 Racing sims when I’m not doing photo editing. I’m really loving the whole seat thing though, not to mention the massive monitor.

Do you have Assetto Corsa? Amazing game, yes it's older but there's graphical upgrades and a whole community that makes "mods" essentially cars and tracks that use the above upgrades and the graphics, options, feel and sound of the cars is bonkers.

Looks amazing too this is the "photo realistic" filter

Here's an example of a database for cars and tracks, one place is like a forum you join and can download as many tracks and cars as you want. And I think one place I paid 7$ and went to town. There's a newer AC game but that's just GT cars, but the original has everything I went to town and have 100gb of just cars and tracks. I highly recommend Assetto Corsa. If you end up getting it PM me and I'll give you a few videos to watch for what mods to download like "content manager" for example to use as a launcher/front end.
Congrats on the build!
