Other Whatever Happened to .... GOBLIN AIRSPORTS Co2 ATOM-8 ?

A few years back a neat little Co2 bb gun was announced by airsoft and paintball outfit Goblin Air-Sports . They are or were known for fun skirmish toys .
Called the Goblin Atom 8 it was advertised online as the worlds smallest bb pistol !
12 bbs in a drop out mag that took an 8 gram soda sparklet .
Really wanted one ! Unique fun plinker .

So .... what happened ?
Website down , Facebook page updated ..... zilch .

Wonderful design , so small with that 8gram . Do a search , stuff still online . BB repeater or single shot - the barrel tipped up for loading up with pellets and darts . Fraid beerthief they may have gone the way of the dodo .

Since the Goblin apparently doesn't exist (if it ever existed at all), I give you the nicest small Co2 pistol ever PRODUCED. The 250 (BB), 252 (.22) and 257 (.177) models were Benjamin's first Co2 guns, PRODUCED beginning in 1952. They are also the most impressive quality American-made Co2 pistols ever made. Featuring all metal and walnut construction, they used a blued-steel grip frame, and an upper of brass construction plated in nickel, with a blued finish. This photo of a mint-condition .22 Model 252 captures the quality-

I used a well-worn 252 as a pocket-pistol during hunting and fishing forays in the last millennium, tucked nicely in a jeans back pocket like it was meant to reside there.

Here's a 257 I've also owned, refinished in Alumahyde with the breech left in the brass and polished for contrast-

They use 8 gram cartridges.

Goblin decided to scrap the Atom 8 and come out with the “Gem”. It’s a single shot compared to the semi auto Atom 8. It’s kind of cool with its external hammer and break open breech. It’s the smallest air pistol made.

Before the Gem, the smallest pistol made was the Jaguar Cub back in the 70’s.

Do you find the Alumahyde finish scratch resistant durable? I have a Crosman Mk1 that could use a face lift.

It seemed durable as long as I owned the that Benjamin 257, but did wrinkle under the pressure of the scope base pictured. That made me think it also wasn't very scratch resistant.

Since then I built a field target pistol out of a Crosman 187 rifle (in 2011), and finished it in Dura Coat. That finish has proven not only durable, but beyond all my hopes. In the ensuing 13 years the 187 has been used enough to win many FT competitions including 3 State and 3 National Champion titles, dis- and re-asseembled a couple times, and bumped hard enough to have scratched or chipped any other spray finish; yet to this day it shows not a scratch or blemish ONE.
