Whats going on with shipping costs ?

Im looking at buying a Saber tactical chassis for my FX DRS , on Utah airguns web site they are $650 + $35 shipping . On Krale's web site they are $583 + $26 shipping . Im all about buying American but Its hard to turn down a price difference like this from Krale . And why a big difference In shipping when Krale are over 3700 + miles away espesially since the Saber tactical chassis only weights 3ibs kind of makes me wonder If Utah airguns are padding the shipping costs . Anyway rant over . Its snowing here In VA so no shooting today .

Later guys .

Shipping costs are a touchy subject everywhere. UPS and Fedex are constantly raising the costs on larger packages. They all of a sudden want to be like the post office but not at their prices lol.
There are some good programs out there and Ive seen UA use them. COuldn't say for sure why yours seems high, but basically they have made it clear, they want to make their set margin on the product and have shipping and supplies paid for in full from customer as well. Maybe thats why they can afford a new building :)
Other companies eat some or all shipping costs , just depends on the industry and competition. Its an ugly game being on the inside.

I recently shipped a Sheridan from Georgia to Arizona by Pirate Ship. Cost $78. I remember being able to ship the same gun for $40.
Have to watch the overall length, keep it under 48" otherwise you get hit hard like you did. Under 50 pounds, and I mean under, not 50.1 and under 48" and you won't hit the additional handling fees. That may mean removing the action from the stock and taking additional care to pack these things but it will save the money.

Ever work with LTL freight rates? LTL is less than a load, items like your couch and fridge for instance. For the seller, it is all about the rebate. How much would you care to bet that UPS and Fed X have a similar program.
Freight line salesman. Ship all your LTL through my company, I will give you a rebate of 55% on the freight rate. The customer sees a100 dollar freight charge on his invoice, the shipper is really paying 45 dollars to ship the item. The 55 bucks will come back to the shipper in the rebate check. I will bet the same system exists for small packages too. I know with certainty the LTL system of ripping off your customers, betcha it is the same for small packages too. Most companies are very careful to hide the existence of those rebate checks, owners and upper management know of the rebate, the rank and file employees do not.

couple of weeks ago I shipped a rifle to Florida from VA cost me around $17 with UPS been like that for awhile so im not sure where your getting double the cost .

$35 to send an arrow box from Texas to New Jersey in January. This is the same box arrows are shipped to me from Lancaster Archery for free. Would have been $100 each way to mail my bow for the Lancaster shoot. Luckily I pack lite for air travel and took my longbow in a tube on the plane as my checked bag. Frontier Airlines did hit me with oversized on the way home. I think they knew I was committed at that point in the journey.

I need to go through my tool roll here so I do not donate more of my good tools to the TSA. Like all people 98% of those guys are great, perhaps that percentage is a little high? I recall one trip to Japan I took 10 identical gifts in my checked bag. Torn up like 6 year olds at Xmas all 10 of them. My wife spent hours they were beautiful. I do lots of shipping....in my suitcase.
