..... that's comparable to the Marauder 25 in price, quality and performance ? I realize many will have different opinions and that's fine , just lets not start a war.
The AT44 has adjustable hammer spring pre load. It doesnt have the valve meter screw or the hammer travel adjustment like the Mrod but it is adjustable for pre load. Neither the Hatsan or the Mrod come regulated. The budget rifles are always a tough bunch to separate out for the best to buy. So I agree look at all the features and decide which one has the most features you like and buy it."zebra"Having owned both a Marauder and AT44 I would rate them as broadly equal overall but they definitely aren't the same. The AT44 is only comparably quiet if you buy the QE version and that makes it noticeably longer and heavier than the Marauder. The synthetic Marauder is just easier to carry. The QE AT44 is quieter though.
The AT44 has a slightly better shot count and it has removable air cylinders so you can carry a spare into the woods. The 25 cal Marauder in stock form has a particularly disappointing shot count. Having to refill every 16 shots is enough to spoil the fun (especially if you use a pump). There are a number of aftermarket mods available to fix this though (but then you are out of the price range).
In general, the Marauder has better aftermarket support. There are more accessories available (like cool stocks) and Crossman has better support for ordering parts.
The AT44 is not regulated or adjustable in any way. You can buy an after-market reg though.
The AT44 uses a side lever which is superior to the Marauders bolt-action unless you are left-handed. The Hatsan mags are simpler and easier to use.
If I was buying my first PCP rifle again, I would probably go with a Sumatra carbine and a chunky LDC over the AT44 or Marauder. It's and extra $100-$150 but I think it's a better hunting gun. That's just preference though. They are all good for the price point. You just need to decide which features are most important as, currently, you can't have everything unless you up your budget.
If only you could pick and choose the features you wanted....
